Who Do You Say Will Be The Republican Nominee For President & Will Obama Lose?

If Newt, the chameleon wins the nomination, then he will win the election.

If Mitt wins the nomination he will lose the election because the Right wing won't vote for him.

Newt knows how to connect with people. Next to Newt Obama is boring. They're both professors. Newt makes it interesting. Obama is a one trick pony.

Newt won't even have to move to the center. He has always been at the center. That is only a disadvantage when he is trying to get the nomination. In the field of Republican candidates Newt will be the last man standing.

The democrats will try to smear Newt about his personal life. The religious Republicans care about peoples personal lives but the independents could care less. Obama has angered his own party with needless compromise.

There is a high likelihood of a serious terror attack before the next election. It will be the Jihadist revenge on Obama for killing Ben Laden and use of drones.

If that happens the Republican candidate will win for sure - even if the economy turns around and is booming.

Newt is at an advantage because his dirty laundry has already been aired. As long as he hasn't cheated on his current wife he should be OK.

The GOP just needs to decide if it wants a Mormon flavoured corporate centrist or a Catholic flavoured corporate centrist.

Gingrich converted to Catholicism, Bisek's faith, on March 29, 2009.He said "over the course of several years, I gradually became Catholic and then decided one day to accept the faith I had already come to embrace." The moment when he decided to officially become a Catholic was when he saw Pope Benedict XVI on his visit to the United States in 2008: "Catching a glimpse of Pope Benedict that day, I was struck by the happiness and peacefulness he exuded. The joyful and radiating presence of the Holy Father was a moment of confirmation about the many things I had been thinking and experiencing for several years." [145] Gingrich has stated that he has developed a greater appreciation for the role of faith in public life following his conversion, and believes that the United States has become too secular.

    Damn.

scotoma- an attack could very well change the election. Not sure what you meant by 'one trick pony', this President has had to deal with Finance, Jobs, Wars, Terrorism, Drug Smuggleing, Health Care...and my SOB cousin Mitch McConnell

One trick pony. Speaking style. Staccato bordering on sing song. Fake laugh and grin. And when he is speaking to blacks he acts like a typical

caucasian that is trying too hard to be a "bro" or o-g. Totally flat and devoid of deep feeling.

I have watched a few of the debates and I have to say the Republican nominees are all a hopeless bunch of morons. One of them may beat Obama because the economy is in such bad shape but it will not be because of any talents they have.

Finally, "There is a high likelihood of a serious terror attack before the next election. It will be the Jihadist revenge on Obama for killing Ben Laden and use of drones. If that happens the Republican candidate will win for sure." - I don't agree at all - Obama has not shown himself weak to respond (did Bush get Bin Laden?) and his response would be appropriate. I understand that the American people would be angry and baying for blood and the Republican party is more closely associated with attacking other nations but whether the public really want another Iraq is another thing (especially since Iraq was not even involved in 9/11 and the declared motive for the invasion was based on lies).

If Obama cared about his party, he'd announce he isn't running and the Democrats would have a good chance with someone like Hillary..

Damn right! The "Clinton Team" would win hands down over Obama. Everyone was living the good life during the Clinton years. That may be why things collapsed, but most won't put 2 & 2 together.

I still think it is Obama's to lose, esp if the economy improves a few points. The key is to get all the voters to turn out again that voted for him in 2008. Sadly (for him) he has failed in many of his promises (to minorities, to gays, etc) and they will all be more apathetic in the next election. McCain never ran a campaign. He never attacked Obama. He ran a "Bob Dole Style Campaign". Just one expample: Jeremiah Wright never came up. Of course, the Media was in love with Obama (did you ever hear his claim to visiting 57 states? No. SNL would have run crazy with that had it been Palin). And the Media has lost their fasination with Obama for the most part. That's the way of poltics.........short term love affairs. BUT, if the minorities get out and vote, that's a huge voting block that is 99.9% democrat (Condi Rice, Herman Cain, and Clarence Thomas still vote GOP -- not sure about Colin Powell anymore). They gay/lesbian crowd really don't have any choice but vote for Obama or sit it out. Considering how he disappointed them (other than the limp attempt to remove Don't Ask Don't Tell), they'll sit it out. It's all about whether the Dems can get the shuttle bus out to the nursing home (and cemeteries) and get the African American voters to the polls.

More apathy among African Americans, Latinos, gay/lesbians, Jews.....and Obama loses.
