I was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I'm 38. In that time frame, I've never heard of something this absurd from the podium at a Kingdom Hall so I questioned it. I asked the author of the opening post what congregation this took place in. He or she would not say. -Celestial

Celestial - You may have indeed found some hurtful and/or propagandistic threads on this website. I for one do not approve of JW bashing. But I do approve of pointing out their hypocrisy and false teachings. However there is one thing you need to remember. This forum consists of many ex-jws that have been screwed over by a cult. Whereas the JWs are supposedly directed by God.
Therefore.......it would stand to reason that this forum will contain posts from those that have their facts straight as well as ones that don't. What is inexcusable is for the society to publish the June 22, 2000 Awake article regarding propaganda.....when they themselves are guilty of the exact propaganda techniques that they condemn in the article. If they are directed by God....then there is no excuse for their literature to be even remotely propagandistic.

I think most people hate a religion that keeps pushing itself on everyone. You get called on, you are not interested. Next week, you are called on again and still not interested. You are going to get hounded until you agree. And you cannot independently research--the ones that do find out what an abominable religion it is. No outside friends, no time for oneself, and no fun. Even worse than regular Christianity. No wonder people end up hating the religion.
I agree with Mrs. Jones. Most people do not know what JW's are really all about. The only thing they mainly know is that they dont celebrate hoildays and they go door to door and they dont vote. Thats it. They are NOT HATED. Just most people dont know much about them, accept for the annoying door to door messages that they spread.

Why do so many people spend time setting up sites purely to discredit the witnesses?
Why do JWs spend so much time trying to discredit other religions?
If being persecuted is evidence of God's approval, surely exJWs must have a triple measure of God's approval. Luap, seriously, go to the elders and tell them that you found that the articles about 607 used quotes completely out of context. Tell them that their current explanation of "generation" directly contradicts their previous interpretations, and ask them what the next interpretation of "generation" will be. Tell them that you've been reading Studies in the Scriptures and have some questions about pyramidology.... THEN, you will know what it means to be treated like an object of hatred as the elders being interrogating you for "apostasy".
JWs are merely treated indifferently by "the world". It's the JWs that are the haters, praying for the day when rocks will fall from the sky to split open the heads of millions of innocent children. THAT is where the hatred is, printed right there in the WT and preached from their platforms.
So can a JW troll count just the time it takes to post their apologetic tripe, or can they count the time they use to read the responses? If the latter, this little JW will have his time in for the week before Saturday rolls around...
