Sooo Armageddon comes....

  Why do they say Armageddon is something? Is it because it is a gathering to war says Revelation 16:14? It looks like to me if there is something to fear it is what comes after Armageddon described at Revelation 16:17 with the pouring out of the seventh bowl.

  I understand the "war" is not war but a quarrel (or strife) and it is well underway and has been going on for a very long time.

  1 What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”? 6 But He gives a greater grace.   No, I doubt it. I think most people here don't give a moment's thought to Armageddon, which is probably fantasy anyway, and if not, well, we'll see, but I for one am not going to lose one second's sleep over it.

  Who do you think you're talking to, exactly? You believe that people who spent many years as JWs haven't "really thought about" Armageddon? We had the concept hammered into our brains, ad nauseum. It used to be all I ever thought about.

  One of the best things about being free, is having the luxury to think about, and build my life around, other ideas; things more pleasant, and rooted in reality.

  MSGG20, according to the prophecies (if you believe in them) a lot of things must happen before Armageddon comes. Look at Ez. 39, 10; Dan. 11:40-45; Zech. 14:1-3; Rev. 11:7, 8, etc. Armageddon should be the last thing on your mind. Rom. 14:12 says each one of us will render an account for himself to God. So make sure of your relationship with Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. That's what matters at this stage. Don't worry too much about the rest.

  Do not confuse the return of Christ with Armageddon. These are not the same thing.

  Christ returns for those who belong to Him, (I think this is when the separating of the sheep and goats occurs) then there is the the thousand years - be that literal or figurative -then those who do not belong to God march (or are misled to march) across the breadth of the earth to wage battle against those who do belong to Christ and God. That war is 'armageddon'. Fire comes down from heaven and destroys those who are seeking to destroy. God does this to protect those who belong to him from those who would destroy them.

  So as for surviving armageddon, if you aren't planning on destroying anyone or making war against them (and do not allow yourself to be misled into doing so), then you're pretty safe. But that is a long, long way off.

  Follow Christ. Follow his teachings and commands, and if your religions contradicts Him, then leave your religion. Because it is Christ who is the truth, and not an organization of men.

  Your question in the op is still very much slanted toward the way the religion teaches armageddon to be. You need a little more separation to be able to see clearly. Others have given great advice on this thread. Read jwfacts. Research. Listen to Christ. You may have to set the bible aside for a little while until you can get the jw bias out of your system, or if you have only been reading the NWT, go out and grab another version and read the gospels. A red letter edition is good (Christ's words in red), to help. But He is the only one you have to listen to. He is the only one who can grant life. You can also pray and ask for guidance. I did. But it was not until I set all of that aside (the teachings of the religion, their slanted view, even the bible for a spell) that I was able to listen and hear, and trust God to guide me.

  In Christianity "salvation" is ONLY through Jesus Christ NOT the Watchtower CORPORATION or any other denomination... "salvation" is through your personal relationship with Jesus, your belief in Him, your acceptance of Him as the Messiah, The Christ, your acceptance of the gift His sacrifice made for us: righteousness, justification in front of the Heavenly Father.

  Read the bible by yourself. Learn from scratch who Jesus is. Ask the Father to show you the Son, to bring you to Him.

  In Christianity "Armageddon" is a localized event ... God will use Israel again to make Himself known to everybody ... it will be up to us humans to choose whether we BELIEVE or not. As Christians we don't worry about "tribulation" "judgment" "armageddon", etc etc et, we have FAITH and BELIEVE in the sacrifice of Jesus, we have accepted His gift, righteoussness, justification in front of my Heavenly Father.

  YES, I am in a better position now ... I know salvation comes from GOD through Jesus (not me being member of the Watchtower CORPORATION). I know that God sees my newborn Spirit, Christ in me, Christ is my PASSOVER ....

  I hope your time will also come when you will worship the FATHER in Spirit ... and don't believe so called "christians" cults - they indoctrinate people with fear to hide them from the Father ... fear is what keeps people away / hiding from the Father since the beginning ... fear is satan's tool to keep deceiving people ...
