my only comments are, since i did in depth research and have proven that the watchtower is 100% BS, and that armegeddon is not real, nor is the "Jehovah" of the watchtower (im not saying there is no God, thats another subject, im saying the Jehovah of the watchtower) real, that I live a life completly free of the guilt and fear that JW's live with. and that is priceless.

please read steve hassans book that leaving wt referenced. armegeddon, the last days, the great tribulation are nothing more than cult propaganda. they are not real. they are simply fear tactics used by the watchtower to keep the members in line.

and this is true even if you believe in the bible. even if you believe the bible, you will find the watchtower is taking all of the scriptures they use out of context. all this stuff is made up. so even if you want to believe the bible, its message is totally different from what the watchtower states.

Words like punishment , obedience , requirements & Armageddon provoke deep feelings of either anger or aversion among ex-JW's.

You can call it denial or simply that they have changed your core beliefs..so it does not compute well !

Things that need to be considered ...

    love vs fear

    compassion vs judgement

    grace vs " undeserved" kindness

    something to do,
    someone to love,
    something to hope for.”

no doubt we're seeing the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy about the last days...so the Bible has some merit!

Ms Girl, may I ask what persuaded you to believe Jehovah's Witnesses message was one of truth? Was it the logical foundations of the message? Or were you raised from childhood to believe what Witnesses teach?

What makes this the last days? What truly makes this world so ripe for destruction? If you compare our lives to history there is no comparison.

Did 1/3 of the people you know die from disease? No? Well they did during the black death(1348-1350). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Death

Did 15% of the population die during a single war? No? Well they did in the An Lushan Rebellion (755-763) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_and_anthropogenic_disasters_by_death_toll

Do most of your friends not live past the age of 25? Yes? During the life of Jesus that was the average life expectancy. http://www.utexas.edu/depts/classics/documents/Life.html

We would have lost 1 Billion people to famine, but modern science steped in. (1965-1970) You know Jesus's name but do you know who Norman Borlaug was? He created a semi-dwarf wheat that prevented the starvation of ONE BILLION people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Borlaug

Is crime constantly on the rise? No it has been declining here in the US since the 90s. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/218949/1/A-reality-test-for-Jehovahs-Witnesses-that-really-seems-to-work

It is a myth that the world is so bad. Not just witnesses but many evangelical branches of Christianity love to promote this myth. They love to scare you into submission by telling you scary stories, that don’t show the whole picture. Things are not getting worse they are getting better. When all you read for your whole life is telling you how bad things are, you are going to think they are terrible.

Go read this book. Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think

You might realize that things are not as hopeless as they want us to believe. Without hope it is easy to control you.

    Girl20,

Firstly, I think you need to ask yourself, why have you now started questioning the WTS. You need to figure out your own motivations. Was it because you were happy in the Org., then you read Rays book that swayed you. Were you already having personal doubts. Did you hear the rumors, investegated and found it to be true or false. There are many questions you need to ask yourself, First.

Now getting back to your question, which I can't answer because he will judge on an individual basis. I know the bible warns me to not be taken in my lies as to when the christ has arrived, or twisted teachings. I know the bible says one will know them by their works, not by hypocrasy.

I'm at a cross roads, myself. The funny thing (joke) about this is, instead of me wanting to run away from the message, I've lately been more drawn to it. So what do I do? Go back to a religion that has peddled dogma that has been proven to be false to the flock and the worldy masses? Do I honestly put my trust in this and also go door to door and preach certain lies to the masses? And not only false dogma, but they have proven false by the hypocrasy to the flock and to the masses. It doesn't make sense to me. So is my salvation based on preaching falesly to the masses? Do you think my salvation is pending on this? So what do I do....??

To top if off, do you know what the biggest fear of JWs and interest is? Armageddon and their own salvation. I hardly ever hear simply wanting a better way of life or doing it out of love for their maker. I know this, because I hear it all the time.

At this point Armageddon sounds like a real drag, but I'm more interested in a better way of life with my maker and other people.

Maybe that's why the Chirst is coming again, he knew he would have to set things straight......

MsGrowingGirl20: Most of us have been where you're now at. Hang in there. It does get easier, after months and years. Facts are stubborn things.

That's a commendable attitude, you will get there. The challenge is to try to put all thoughts of fear aside so you can pursue facts objectively.

None of us do this pefectly but if you are concerned that it may be sinful to question your most fundamental beliefs it will be impossible to get to truth.

Its a long journey, enjoy the process.

Girl20 don't worry about offending anyone. You have to do what's good for yourself, not anyone here. If you decide to stay in or not, for your own personal reasons, no one should judge, nor should you be worried about what any of us think.
