Sulla...I don't know what made you Catholic...but I think you can get a topical cream for that.

I have a great book for you to read...'The Last Pope' by John Hogue. If you actually finish reading it and STILL want to listen to anything a pope has to say then all I can say is ....OMG!!!

I was raised a catholic by the way...so I think I am allowed to be as repulsed as I want.

    I'll take the Dunning-Kruger Effect for $500.

    Make it $1k . . . they're short odds.

Oh, look! Mr. Didn't-complete-community-college has an explanation! Wonder what it is?

Still thinking, looked at Hogue's web site. Big authority on Nostradamus, I see. Thanks, but I think I'll pass.

Maybe u should throw that comment at Einstein. I don't think he was much for schooling, but I could be wrong.

I think the part I had trouble with in Catholicism, which is the religion I was raised in, was Father Garvey trying to fuck all us alter boys in the ass.

No Sulla...it wasn't the predictions I was interested in...it was the history.

This book is about St Malachys predictions..who the popes have NO problem with...They made him a saint after all.

But besides that (because I am not interested in nutters)....He gives a very good break down of all the popes and their foibles. If you can call condoning torture and mass murder a foible.

There is no getting around the fact that historically, popes were murderous nutters. Who sought nothing but power and lived by double standards. They certainly didn't think what they inflicted on others applied to them. Some popes considered THEMSELVES the mediators between Christ and us. If these people were alive today they would be considered to be on the same level as Hitler. They had such a hate of the Jews it was unfathomable...How ANYONE in this day and age would want to be a part of a religion that has condoned this really is beyond me.

You seem more wacked out than ever by the way!

I could be wrong, too. Tell you what, SBC writes a paper that changes the way we look at reality and I will come here and eat my words. In public. How's that?

I think the part I had trouble with in Catholicism, which is the religion I was raised in, was Father Garvey trying to fuck all us alter boys in the ass.

So, you became a JW? 'Cause that sort of thing just can't happen in the JWs. Please. Everywhere ya' go, somebody's trying to pound you in the ass. What, you give up on football 'cause of Sandusky?

There is no getting around the fact that historically, popes were murderous nutters. Who sought nothing but power and lived by double standards.

I'm shocked? Had people killed and all that? I had no idea...

How ANYONE in this day and age would want to be a part of a religion that has condoned this really is beyond me.

Well, I'm an evil bastard. That might push a person toward Catholicism, I suspect.

Seriously Sulla...do you think the history of Catholicism is OK? And do you think they have really changed that much when it is still based on the same premise that the Pope is the Holy father in rome and he still lives is the same city that was bought and paid for by corruption and prostitution. The catholics were the biggest pimps in Italy. Until one of the popes decided it wasn't a good look.

Since you seem to brush off all the things they did, maybe you could have just remained a JW and brushed of the things they did and do. Whats the difference?

It is beyond my comprehension that anybody could escape the Watchtower with its crazy doctrines, authoritarian leadership and sickening history of child abuse and join the Catholic church with its even crazier doctrines, infallible leader and a record of child rape and cover-up that makes the borg look clean by comparison.
