  In most democratic countries you can conduct a peaceful protest on publicly owned lands.

  Getting a group of protesters gathered at a summer district Assembly on side walks etc.

  holding placards warning the public of the uneventful damages this religious cult does cause

  would attract attention from the surrounding community and perhaps to a

  further extent the media.

  The best way to hurt the WTS. and encourage this organization to change some its set doctrines,

  is expose the organization to the public .

  Anderson Cooper has recently been exposing Scientology on his Television program, which I think is great.

  I would like very much to see the JWS exposed on the issue of DFing and what causative effects it has onto people.

  Make little stickers to go inside every publication you see with the website addresses of sites like this and a simple message like, Research this first! This is a cult. Keep them with you at all times. Hand out your own information flier when you think appropriate.

  Someone with more knowladge and clout than me, contact Anderson Cooper and see if he is interested in taking this one on. The Conti appeal deadline is almost here, that might pique his interest.

  Bad PR is the effective, it makes people THINK and sometimes look into it. The court case and the huge judgement was the best way though. Hitting in the pocket book, whether from the courts, or from the growing lack of potential converts. I wonder how many Moonies converts there are happening now?

  Yes this could be actually concerning enough that might consider a broadcast segment on the case as well .

  The Pedophilia situation with the Catholics has drawn much attention in recent years so this might well be in favor of them putting out

  a topic on the JWS and its problems.

  Did the placards ever create doubt or dialogue for anyone when they were really "in"?

  In our town everyone goes off to conventions and the shunned ones and the kids who were set adrift don't follow what happens there. I'm certain that the local papers would pick up on a meeting for support of Conscience. We need something gentle and not specifically set in opposition to the JWs. The newer generation of shunned ones just try to support one another and have a life. And, I kinda think, there should be ways to engage the larger community even beyond the witnesses/ex-witnesses issues.

  It is healthy to stand for principles that over-arch the narrow field the Borg is defending. Their "territory" gets smaller, meaner.

  The generous spirit of the brotherhood that Jesus lived and described is as attractive now as it was long ago. A focus of concern that invites honestycare of and love will be good for the ones of us still hurting from our brush with the Borg.

  Small is beautiful. It may be that looking to local needs will take care of larger issues as well.

  I´m with you both on this one.

  In the late 80´s Dan Skinner was our CO. He opened his meeting with our elder body, with this unpublished statistic from the WTS - that there were (as of that time) as many disfellowshipped as there were actual witnesses.

  A sobering factoid I never forgot. The percentage today is likely much greater as a poster surmised.

  W/tower's evil is distressing. Who do we contact for help -- really? There has to be something this huge group of ex-witnesses can do to be heard.

  Is it possible to print info and distribute and contact legal and discrimination/hate crime agencies as a group re/the evil they perpetrate. The law has to protect we the people some how some way other than it standing one way for ever. It's frustrating they have all the rights.
