    Cedars,

I'm so glad I don't believe these men are part of an actual spiritual Governing Body endowed with supernatural powers & blessings from on-high. I'm afraid I'd be terribly disappointed if I ever went & listened to a chicken-anointing tale by one of the GB in the flesh. I suspect I'd feel the devastation Dorothy must have felt when she encountered the wizard of Oz.

I love the chickens/Pretentious III images. I felt awkward and embarrassed just watching this.

Let's just suppose for one moment that this ridiculous story is true.

It means that this very poor family were made even poorer and it took them a whole year to get back to where they were.

It took hard work and sacrifice and probably meant they went without things they desperately needed like clothes and school books.

Yes if the new system is coming and they are going to live forever in paradise it is all worth it ................

So they went to the convention abondoning their chickens for 7 days. 19 chickens died, presumably from the neglect.

Isn't there a scripture about "caring for the soul of your domestic animal" or something?

Perhaps A Morris the turd should tell this to the Lillelid family

Long may the GB continue to make themselves look like twats in front of the world!

Outlaw - you made me choke laughing Jehovah wasn't watching over my apostate chickens the other week when foxy loxy got in and took them for her dinner.

I was thinking the same as Sapphy.

How irresponsible! How inhumane! And AMIII approves of this? He's using this 'experience' as a good example for others? No wonder there was hesitation before the applause.

What about his analogy with the Israelites? Let's check the reference, shall we?

(Exodus 34:23, 24) “Three times in the year every male of yours is to appear before the [true] Lord, Jehovah, the God of Israel. For I shall drive the nations away from before you, and I will make your territory spacious; and nobody will desire your land while you are going up to see the face of Jehovah your God three times in the year.

So who could have stayed home looking after the livestock and fields, huh? The women, children, foreign slaves, hired hands - SOMEBODY. They wouldn't have abandoned their animals to fend for themselves! AMIII needs to be reminded that "homes and fields" don't need feeding every day.

    Sheesh!

So, 19 chickens died while they were away to the DC? Sounds like an actionable case of animal cruelty to me. Whatever happened to man's mandate for dominion over the lower animals?

Given their propensity to quote mine and spin, I wonder what they left out of the story.

"Now one year later their small flock had increased to more than 60 chickens".

How many chickens were they left with after the 19 died? They could have been left with 59 chickens - we just don't know.

Did the chickens reproduce as we are being led to believe, or did they have to buy some more - we just don't know.

    As usual, all unverifiable.

    Splash.

The GB think they're so 'glorious(TM)' that they believe they CAN count their chickens before they hatch.
