OTWO: well said, that is why I branched my answer into FAMILY, not in the sense of combatting other families, tribes, spiritual families, but spreading good, humour even, from the only place I am.

I believe that Romans 1:20 makes a good point. I do not profess to be a creationist, but with my knowledge of enantiomers, I am satified that God is real. he may be invisible, but I believe he is real

    prologos,

Thank you for your post. It is nice to meet a fellow believer, but I do agree with you that family are more important that whether or not one believes in a creator or not.

    You said

and hope to see greater insights in his WORKS in my life time.

Are you refering to scientific knowledge or miricles?

No - I see no evidence of god and there is no need for one. I also don't beleive in unicorns, gremlins the tooth fairy or Santy claws.

    Now the FSM - that's a different story ;-)

Edit: I do believe in Big Mac - but I don't believe he has any purpose.

    Hello OTWO,

I have read a few of your posts. It is my understanding from what I have read that you are an atheist. However, I really agree with the point you make about abandoning making statements to define your beliefs.

We should always do what we feel is right for us. If you have moved on from making certain statements, then I say GOOD FOR YOU!!! You are setting a mature and fine example.

    Thanks

    cantleave,

Another question. Were you ever an atheist while you were a JW?

I mean before 2009, before you started having doubts about the org.

cantleave says he believes in me--its a lie--he knows i'm just a figment of my imagination.

@70 weeks--i never believed in god--i was brought up as a dub-brat--got dipped at 14 to please parents....left school early--pioneered--married another dub-brat at 20--walkes away from the cult at 23.

    OTWO,

I like your view that we should focus more on how people treat each other, rather what they believe. So maybe after 9yrs and 17000 posts I may take your advice. It's very good and sensible advice.

I suppose I am deprogramming and wanting to get to know new people and know why they believe what they believe fill my need for human contact at the moment.

Thank you for posting on this site so frequently and helping us to deprogram from our indoctrination.

    Please keep posting

    70wks...
