Does the Spirit (who is Christ) speak, and how?

Let Tammy have her whispering Jesus if it comforts her, I just resent having to read about it as I feel he gives her nothing worthwhile repeating while at the same time giving her airs of superiority over us non chosen ones.

A - you reading it is your choice. No one is making you.

B - I cannot argue with what you feel, but there are others who feel that much IS worth repeating... and I have no air of superiority at all. None at all. I don't do threads or answer questions like this for that reason, but only for those who are seeking, that they may also know that THEY are invited, and THEY may hear... SHARING good news; SHARING an invitation; SHARING what has brought me greaty joy and peace as well.

    Peace to you,

Important question - Do you consider yourself a prophet just like the bible characters?

Youve made a few comments lately about how what you do is the same as what they did...

Those who heard the Spirit (the apostles for instance) were not all prophets; but witnesses; and in union with Christ.

To be a prophet I would have to give a prophecy, wouldn't I?

    TEC said-

SHARING what has brought me greaty joy and peace as well.

Why has your belief brought you "joy and peace"? Can you expound upon that more fully (eg what do you expect to experience after death? What would a typical "day" be like for you, after you die)?

No. I'm doing as you suggest and "testing". Or by "test", do you mean "Just agree with me and accept all I say." ?

So what were you testing of what is written in the OP?

" Not everyone wants to see Him, or hear Him..."

If I may, it is quite judgemental to accuse others of not "wanting" to hear Christ.I have read many here that beg to have an interaction with Christ and hear his voice!
(Not me of course; I believe the whole thing is a delusion, and more clinical than spiritual.)

Saying that not everyone wants to see Him, or hear Him... is simply truthful. Because not everyone DOES. People admit to such. Sometimes, even when we think we do... we don't really want to hear the Truth. I have asked a question of him myself... and immediately hardened my heart... because I only wanted ONE specific answer, and I did not want to hear any other answer. I felt that hardening... because I was afraid that the answer would be what i did not want to hear, and so I could not hear anything because I had hardened my heart to the answer.

    Peace to you,

Cofty, I think you should concentrate more on the fingers pointing back at you. You have done everything to avoid seeing and admitting that your 'name' for me does not match ANY of the evidence; and you have refused to answer my simple question to you. You also come to this thread when you have stated many times that you are tired of hearing all this 'waffle'... but you were the very FIRST to jump on this thread, lol. As you often are. And you have the audacity to go around calling me troll (or accusing
SBF of trolling you when he was here)... and yet YOU do the same thing to me.

    That is called hypocrisy.

The problem with those "hearing" God, of course, is that the audibility of God’s voice depends on me, and that can’t possibly be right. If the God of the Universe is intent on communicating with me, then S/He can surely break through all of the chatter that surrounds my everyday life. Tammy will probably will disagree with me on this, but I do not think it’s reasonable to believe that the ability of God to communicate is somehow contingent on our ability to hear.

If God does communicate with human beings, then God is entirely able to do that with no help from us. I realize that there are biblical examples of God coming in the “still, small voice,” but generally God shows up in much bigger ways: pillars of cloud fire, descending clouds and doves, loud voices, and a presence that splits rocks and lights shrubs on fire. In other words, the Bible portrays a God who cannot be ignored or overlooked.

Again, you presume to "know" that we have not wanted HIM to reveal himself.

Even Mother Teresa said she never "heard" God. She said " I look but do not see, I listen but do not hear".

So, "What have you done that Mother Teresa did not?" Did she not want him to reveal himself to her?

What about us? Most of us who are atheist are here because we used to be religious at some point, in our case JW. Dont you think we prayed, did what we thought was pious and had faith in Christ? Dont you think we prayed fervently hundreds of times? Dont you think we maybe even "felt" his blessing?

You mention Paul alot. You know how Paul was convinced about Christ? According to Acts, Jesus not only spoke to him but also blinded his ass for days.

You know how Moses was convinced about Yaweh/ Jehovah. God spoke to him...and had a burning freaking bush, along with magic tricks.

Elijah...god spoke to him and caused all sorts of chaos to prove he was the better god.

John the baptist...god spoke along with a magic white dove.

the apostles....had faith in jesus....especially after all the magic tricks, resurections, seeing moses and elijahs ghosts, walking on water. The roman soldier at Jesus death. Only after the darkness, earthquake and all sorts of wierd stuff did he have faith.

Arguably the majority of all the times God "spoke" they were accompanied by tremendous acts or miracles.

Now...someone's "miracle" is "God told me he loves me".....yawn. Seems like God lost his touch.

If I have missed any specific questions or comments, I apologize. (I will answer yours just above Adamah) I won't be around much more today, but will look through the thread again tomorrow. Or pm me too.

Hey, good luck with that Christ speaking.

If Jesus wants me to know anything, he has my number.

You have described it many times in a way that is identical to Platonic mind-body dualism. A person's spirit is imprisoned in their body during physical life and released at physical death. - Cofty

I have not said this. - Tammy

"Paul also said that we were spirits trapped in clay vesels" - Tammy on another thread yesterday. Post #12314

    You are a liar Tammy.
