Your points raised have some merit, and have been discussed here already by people such as myself. As stated though, until you critically examine your own beliefs, you will not be taken seriously and be regarded as a hypocrite and a troublemaker.

I would suggest that you go take a break and do some research and some thinking and come back in 6 months.

    goodnight,

but that they have love among themselves.

JW's demonstrate that love. You can blindfold me and drop me out of an airplane anywhere in the world where there are a significant number of JW's and I will have instant family.

Oh, sure....right..... That's why my mother spent the last 18 months of her life in a nursing home being ignored by her JW "family". The supposed "love" is conditional. Mom wasn't of any use to them anymore to push literature, so they abandoned her. Great love, that.

I spent months begging my JW "family" to visit my husband who had been hospitalized and ill for six months. Not one card, not one phone call, not one visit....until someone told an elder that they thought my husband had started smoking. WHAM!! Three elders show up at the apartment threatening to disfellowship. Ah, the love.

During my 30 years in this cult, I saw more lack of love than love. There was more gossiping, backbiting, and exclusionary cliques than I have ever seen in any other group.

    Love? I think not.

And the numbers of documented pedophiles are irrelevant. The fact that these people are still in good standing within the congregations while their victims are cast aside by their "brothers" is the real issue. And, yes, I know personally of at least one. This abuser is looked on quite highly in the congregation.

The Catholic Church is being raked over the coals for their failures in this area, and it appears that they are trying to effect changes so that the abuse will not continue.

The WTBTS, on the other hand, is denying any responsibility. The WTBTS is closing the ranks and expelling any who have the courage to speak up. The WTBTS is harrassing the victims once again.

It's about time that this organization that claims to be God's true representative on earth begins to act in a manner befitting that claim. All they have shown so far is that the "sheep" matter little, while profits matter a lot.

Beating, raping, and murdering one another at an unprecedented rate in their 120+ year history is "Love for one another?"

    Psych.,

You say the JWs is the most exemplary of religions. Prove it. Do you have statisitics on crimes, sins and evil committed by JWs or any other religion?
Have you read here of cases of spousal abuse, adultry, drunkeness, phedophelia, cheating in business, etc., etc., among the witnesses? I don't care about the numbers myself. There are enough damage out there to keep this board going, and people like Bill Bowen overwhelmed with work, trying to help the walking wounded.

On another comment of yours: you said that forensic evidence can serve as a second witness. Is that in your literature? Of course not, so it has no meaning in this discussion.

On Bills website he lays out what he call the dynamics(I think thats the word he used) of the molestation problem with in the Watchtower Society.

He list one of them as the reluctantness of individual to seek help from outside the society. Civil Authorites would come under this heading.

Witnesses believe that everything outside the WBTS is ultimetly under the controll of satan, that includes the police. So therefore the attitude that prevails is that not many Witnesses would decide to seek help from outside sources due to the contempt that tey have for anyone not a Jehovah's Witness.

An attitude like that is a serious peoblem.

That is one of Bills major concerns.

Also there is the prevailing attitude among the Witnesses that, you must not bring reproach apon Jehovah's name.

This also hampers justice. If you think about this for a minute you will see just how much destructive potential it has.

Imagine that you are more concerned with protecting the reputation of your congregation than the safety of your children!

What do you have to say about that?

It is pointless to debate the particulars of the WT and their policy regarding child abuse with those who are either ignorant of or not honest about how the WT operates.

Phych, I must admit that I am one who has bypassed 99% of the posts about child molestation within the Org. I never saw any evidence of it in my neck of the woods when I was a witness 20 yrs ago - and it's a particularly distastful subject to me. Just because I didn't experience it or don't like the subject doesn't mean it doesn't go on. Your head in the sand attitude is understandable - but if you look at the figures that Bill is quoting - it's still only a very small percentage of JWs. I'm not good at Math, but 32000 or was it 23000 on 6 million is not a big figure - when you take it world wide. As you know, JWs are not perfect and hold within their ranks all kinds of sinners - do you think JWs are exempt from this particular sin - and why would that be, if your answer is yes?

Psychdigg maintains that "Bill Bowen absolutely cannot establish
an accurate picture of how much molestation is going on among
Jehovah's Witnesses." If that is true, then why doesn't the
Watchtower tell us the accurate numbers? After all, they are
great on keeping figures on the worldwide number of publishers, number of
Bible studies, number of back calls, number of Watchtowers,
number of this and number of that. Why don't they tell us the
accurate number of molesters in the organization?
