but that they have love among themselves.JW's demonstrate that love. You can blindfold me and drop me out of an airplane anywhere in the world where there are a significant number of JW's and I will have instant family.
Oh, sure....right..... That's why my mother spent the last 18 months of her life in a nursing home being ignored by her JW "family". The supposed "love" is conditional. Mom wasn't of any use to them anymore to push literature, so they abandoned her. Great love, that.
I spent months begging my JW "family" to visit my husband who had been hospitalized and ill for six months. Not one card, not one phone call, not one visit....until someone told an elder that they thought my husband had started smoking. WHAM!! Three elders show up at the apartment threatening to disfellowship. Ah, the love.
During my 30 years in this cult, I saw more lack of love than love. There was more gossiping, backbiting, and exclusionary cliques than I have ever seen in any other group.
Love? I think not.
And the numbers of documented pedophiles are irrelevant. The fact that these people are still in good standing within the congregations while their victims are cast aside by their "brothers" is the real issue. And, yes, I know personally of at least one. This abuser is looked on quite highly in the congregation.
The Catholic Church is being raked over the coals for their failures in this area, and it appears that they are trying to effect changes so that the abuse will not continue.
The WTBTS, on the other hand, is denying any responsibility. The WTBTS is closing the ranks and expelling any who have the courage to speak up. The WTBTS is harrassing the victims once again.
It's about time that this organization that claims to be God's true representative on earth begins to act in a manner befitting that claim. All they have shown so far is that the "sheep" matter little, while profits matter a lot.
