I haven't finish reading the posts; I only read the first page, so I may be sticking my foot on my mouth by what I'm going to say:
I still have doubts about jerome's style... he seems to follow the same pattern on this board with some posters: kind of sticking up for the free world the exJW experiences and on the other hand, he sticks out for the ones who defends the WT. Also, he seems to enjoy when one posts this kind of threads (like Hilda's on other threads)and he likes to feed them big time giving all kinds of suggestions, but never definnig what his real intentions are. It is kind of weird and I don't think I can explain myself about this. Sorry and if someone here feels the same way and can explain it better, please do so, if you wish... I'm kind of timid here... but I couldn't stay quiet...

If a man commits fornication it is a sin against God. If a man molests a child it is a crime. This is the crux of the problem. Religions have ALL (including jws) attempted 'damage control' without involving the law. I don't believe the JW authority system intends to support child molesters. Its mistake is in believing it has the God given authority to deal with the problem its own way. It is impossible to say whether JW have tried to keep a lid on the problem because of the bad impression it creates or whether they truly believe they are dealing with it in a Christian way.
Jehovah's Witnesses are behaving like all the other churches have behaved in their early stages of dealing with the problem - only now JWs have added another dimension - disfellowshipping whistle blowers. Although the catholic church hasn't taken this high profile step it has done so on a personal basis. A victim interviewed on BBC tv last nite said that priests and worshippers at his old church won't talk with him. It would seem human behavior is predictable the world over.

I would love to respond to your posts some actually make worthy points to rebutt. But....we kind of have a chasm of ridicule to narrow. Apologies are in order. Hijacking, obscenities? I choose not to deal with people in the real world who exhibit that kind of behavior I don't make an exception on line.

Psychdigg, you or someone raised the issue about the difficulty proving an exact number like 23,000.
Come on, now, anyone with any saavy as a communicator in the corporate world knows that you shoot down a number like 23,000 with the real number (if a separate such number exists).
Suppose you knew that 23,000 was not even in the ballpark because you were a Bethelite who knew the real number was less than 1,000? Then you would start posting the real number with the evidence you claim Bill Bowen does not have!
However, it seems to me that you are in the dark as much as everyone else about pedophile statistics in the organization. Like any big corporation the Watchtower Society is sitting on the real numbers. Bill Bowen says that 23,000 is good figure. If it were really 22,000 that would still be close. If it were really 2,300 then it would be grossly off.
You challenge Bill to provide solid evidence. However, if you were a Bethelite or anyone privy to the numbers -- and you knew Bill's numbers were way off -- then you would
(a) simply state that you know the number is closer to some other figure that is WAY OFF from Bill's published figure; and
(b) for more credibility, post the evidence you claim is lacking with Bill.
You post neither. Your posts are all buns and relish thus far. Where's the beef?
