Its obvious that they are grabbing any professional they can find that will agree with them, throw them in front of a camera and make them read the comments they've written.

Even if what the woman in the video says is true, this is "Jehovah's Spirit Directed Organization" and if that is true then the "glorious ones" should have taken all necessary steps to protect the children. Surely, Jehovah would make sure that his "earthly organization" would make maintaining the innocence of its children a priority.

That just cracked me up...so unprofessional, amateurish! But this gave me such a flashback...21 years ago, I first thought of the idea of charging my molester. Witnesses were like, Why would you want to do a thing like that? (It had been this big elephant that so many knew about, but ignored.) Are you out for revenge? We don't use the worldly system for justice. Put it behind you, trust in Jehovah. Why would you go to a worldly therapist when the Elders are right here willing to help?
And so on, and so on... Just ridiculous nonsense. Unfortunately when you grow up a Witness, you think these are normal responses, that they're probably right and when you act independently, you are working with the Devil.
How ludicrous...my siblings and I were molested for years because of this logic!

Randy, Thanks for putting this up for us. It's great! I hope all JWs who are willing to think see it! There couldn't be a better condemnation of them than that ignorant tripe they serve up--hoisted by their own petard, before Dateline really nails it for them.

It's strange how jehovahs chariot like org, speeded along by jehovah himself, spreading jehovahs anouncements and truths as it goes. How it claims to be ahead of everyone else as far as the times and seasons go. Then in a simple issue like children suffering, jehovahs org is years behind what it labels wicked worldly satanic thinking. The sixties was a turning point for the realization that all people have rights. Yet, it took the wt until now, another 40 yrs to realize that children may have the right to an abuse free loving family atmosphere. Strange, very strange. Of course we know that this is only because the wt has no choice but to face this issue. This shows plainly that a loving god had no input there. It is people that is forcing change, just like it allways has been in the org and in history, and always will be.

May I clarify a couple things, please? Thank you! First, I am a 'sister'. Sorry, if I misled you. With that said, let me quote myself, if I may:

I stand by that assertion, and also that such ignorance was no excuse. Indeed, while a great many people DID know, a great many did NOT, did not think it heinous, and/or did not WANT to know (how MANY mothers would turn a deaf ear to the child begging her to BELIEVE they were being molested by the husband, boyfriend, uncle, brother, etc., etc., etc.?).

Now, using these things would be all well and good for Billy Bob Jenkins and his 'clan' in, say, the back regions of Appalachia. However, for an organization... an INTERNATIONAL organization... that tends to pride itself on its vast array of... ummmm... 'knowledge'... to use it now is just plain stupid. IMHO, anyway.

But I still agree with the "Dr.", just not with her purpose in stating it at this time and under these circumstances.

After having watched that video clip I'm at a complete loss as to how in the world they think this is going to back up their position.

I don't think, 18 or 20 years ago, we knew much of anything about pedophiles. It wasn't really looked at as a criminal matter. We didn't publicize it as being an act that needed some criminal intervention, so to speak.
