Own goal confused. This thread was sparked by a Muslim , at work, trying to force his beliefs on others.
Most people respect that there are places to discuss things in an open manner and others don't.it has nothing to do with the strength of feeling here. You aren't listening because you keep restating the position of those opposed to Islamic teachings as wanting to 'deport' people and as 'hate' . Nobody is suggesting that people who have committed no crimes or anti-social behaviour be targeted in any way. What is being suggested is that Islam is by its very nature is poisonous and opposed to Western ideals not simply because of a few extremists but because it's printed book hard bakes medieval , anti-women, violent struggle and ultra nationalist ideals.
Here is a suggestion of the sort of things I would like to see as standard western practise:
1: No faith schools allowed.
2: No home schooling on religious grounds.
3: Banning all religious clothing on public , municipal property (schools, courthouses etc.)
4: Enacting protection laws banning arranged marriages for under 18s.
5: The immediate creation by and for Muslims of country based , open to the public, authoraties in charge of mosques, Islamic religious instruction etc. This would make clear the expectation of policing extremist views in a transparent fashion. Any mosque violating would be closed until reformed.
6: All people leaving the country to fight for Islamic wars to receive a permanent ban on re-entering the country.
7: A clear and honest review of all religious privilege across all religions with the aim of imposing a set of public standards (covering shunning, honour killing, women's rights, gender issues etc.) with mild sanction (losing charitable status) through to bans on individuals, congregations or religious practices depending on the seriousness of the social problem.
8: Standardisation and potential banning of such things as halal slaughtering practices if deemed inhumane.
Just as practices once condoned by religion (women as property, slavery, papal political influence, church tax, mandatory church attendance etc.) have been banned so we should ensure the laws of the land are clear and unequivacable in protecting the western way of life and regulating older medieval organisations.
