No one at a congregation gathering aid anything. Nor at meetings, I asked my closest jw girlfriend and she said yeah her mom told her. The most I have heard is sisters saying they like the Gilead Graduation. And... All the kids getting Caleb and Sophia indoctrination. Also, someone told me even though our hall is terrible, no spiritual refreshment or encouragement, we can listen to tv jw to get that spiritual refreshment. Gag.

I got it going on my computer yesterday to show mrs. hoser. I showed her the video at the end where the guy sings like a mixture of jack johnson and tracy chapman. She watched the video then Lett came on the screen and said "Jay Dubya dot org". My wife broke out laughing and went back to the living room to watch regular tv.

There were a few FB and Insta posts last week but nothing this week. Like I said in a past post, it will get old and they will move on to something else. The JW.org fanfare is dying out too. Fads are just that:Fads. They come and poof they are gone. What ever happened to the Ice Bucket challenge?

I think the GB are shooting themselves in the foot by resorting to fads. Witnesses will begin to rely on fads to keep interested and when the GB cant deliver the sheep will get restless. But the GB have no real alternative since FEAR isnt working anymore.

So far only one JW I know has greeted it as enthusiastically as this ...

    ... otherwise, silence.

This is a repost of mine from a similar thread:

Here is a post from a 30ish sister (I copied it from my facebook news feed)....I think this is a good indication to how effective it will be with Dubs:

"So, My Aunt said that she was up super late the other night watching the new JW TV site. She said she had tears running down her face, she was so happy to see all the videos. If you've never seen this before, please go check it out, you won't be dissapointed. The GB is really taking care of us..."

    Puke

Maybe a 1/4 -1/3 of active dubs will think it's cheesy, but the rest are lapping this stuff up. The changes are being seen as positive.

Fear is still working to keep many in, even those who know TTATT, the very real fear of being cut off from family, friends, and even source of income, is too much for many to face up to.

I agree the fads are a big mistake, long may the GB continue to make such blunders.

I would love to talk to some of the real old-timer JW's I know and ask their honest opinion on JW.Org signs on K.Halls and on JW T V etc, but I bet I would not get an honest answer, just a "we have to move with the times" or some such nonsense.

I visited the T.V channel again the other day, seems to be working properly, which it was not on the first day when I tried it, but I think the average JW will soon become underwhelmed with its mix of same old, same old but now on the flickering " JW Brand coloured" screen.

For the last 50 years or so we have become used to finding interesting and entertaining programmes on T.V , even die-hard JW's are not going to want much of what is basically a T.V version of a Regional Assembly programme, plus a few crap cartoons.

I showed it to my wife, who is still trying her best to be positive about the whole "Truth" thing. She said that she would not likely be watching JW.TV She prefers watching Old Movies and The Voice. My 15 year old daughter watched the music video and said it was OK. She told me that she would not be checking JW.TV for daily updates anytime soon. She prefers Tumblr. We had to watch S. Lett seperately because we could not keep a straight face while watching him together. My daughter said it was creepy and said this is looking more and more like a cult. Other than that, I have heard nothing from anyone else.

This is the reaction that I have been seeing, but what else can active JWs say about it? You can't say what you really feel just what you are expected to say. I do think your statistic of 1/4-1/3 is probably accurate as well.

Every dog must have its day. This organization has promoted lots of 'methods' of advertising its products in its more than 140 years of being an incorporated company (Watchtower Bible & Tract Society).

I remember the excited throngs at a Christchurch, New Zealand, international convention in 1973 (exact year could need checking - but at least 2 years before 1975), in which we were encouraged to distribute far and wide The Kingdom News tract with its startling title of how near the end was. The difference with this campaign was as follows: We were to cover the territory as quickly as possible such was the urgency of the message.

I recall how excited I felt and at break during the program we buzzed zealously about how much it showed this old system was well and truly nearing its end.

What suckers. What fools. But you learn never to trust what humans say and you look at the younger generation of JWs who have little, if any knowledge or interest in the history of their novelty-struck organization. Besides, has any one else noticed how relatively few young ones go door-to-door these days?

When I see the Witnesses out door-knocking, not only do there appear to be fewer doing so than in the 1970s and 1980s, but virtually no young ones among their number.

I asked my mum whether she had watched and she said she couldn't get it to work on her tablet. So I helped her access it and said "now you can watch JW TV" (she's housebound at the moment). Her response was less than enthusiastic....may even have had a hint of sarcasm 😉
