JT,
You always hit the nail on the head. I usually avoid high fiving on the board, but I wish I had your ability to see what's going on and express it so clearly

Pleaseeeeeeeeee---- -man you must be joking-- If it were not for you and a couple of other folks I would still be in the Borg-
You are very clear and concise-
but thanks for the kind words
Lisa, I want to nominate this thread as the thread of the month. I have seen more posts per hour of such high quality, than I have seen in a long time. JT, I really appreciated that post. The image of the elite having a life of leisure and comfort, and then flogging the rank and file over materialism. Wow, powerful stuff, and your wife was right in pointing out this hypocracy. Good for her. I love to read the stories you share with us. Edited to add comments to JT.

Several women would show up and be invaluable in their empathey, sharing, and their warm advice. Another thought: some of the analytical stuff can shake people up and get them to think. However, it is the nurturance that helps them get over the trauma of leaving.
Beautifully put, Larc!
I have posted before that both doctrinal research and emotional support are of equal value on this forum. It's great to get people out of the org, but then what? Emotional support has always been easier for me. Is it because I'm a woman? Maybe. No, make that probably. Matters of the heart have always been easier for me.
I do know that the emotional support doesn't seem to get much respect here.

ISP, Jan totally gets what I mean.
Perhaps we have ALL lapsed into our old KH personalities!
Cynthia, I did forget about you! I guess I was more thinking in terms of DB 'owners' although one is no less important than the other. And yes, I have been a bad girl by not posting on your forum though you have invited me to. I'm sorry!
I value EVERYONE'S input on this board, except for YKs.
My term 'important' was for lack of a better word.
A week or so back, I made a post that referred to the fact that the WBTS was hanging the elders out to dry. That's why I went through all the trouble to find out what the WBTS liability plan was for the elders who serve under them; vs. what worldly churches provide. Those threads got almost no response, and I was rather disheartened. It seems our DB is more accustomed to men posting important information, and women being the nurturers.
It is no surprise to me that women are behind men in their cognitive application skills. Take a look at the benefit men receive from team sports. Principles that women have just begun to appreciate, and be exposed to. Men have the "old boys network" at work, women have the "glass ceiling."
I'm not saying that the women here are not important, but simply that the men seem to take more direct action. I'm including myself in that women group, by the way.
I have simply begun a process of taking more direct action against the WBTS and had done some reflection on why it's taken me so long.
I do love this board, and have some wonderful friends on it, but my soul-searching is moving me in a different direction lately.

Lisa, you said, " I do love this board, and have some wonderful friends on it, but my soul-searching is moving me in a different direction lately.
What direction do you mean? Please explain .
Cynthia
And who ranks on your list of 'important apostates?'
Hey Lisa, because the female apostates do so much good work that goes unnoticed, I thought the above was off the mark. It might be me but just how it read.

JT says:
while 99.9% of the rest of the convention was down on the field struggling to stay awake, look up text in those little crapped ass seats, while we were sitting in LAZY BOYS as it werec sipping teaed tea many times.
I thought our non-USers would like to know what a LAZY BOY is, LOL.
LMAO!

Ros, the lady who runs Beacon: www.xjw.com has been a force for good in the former JW community for many years. Her site was among the first I saw when I began my internet search and it was a big help at that time.
Since the vast majority of women here were raised and/or members of the jw's for decades, it's no wonder that speaking out is a somewhat new experience. We've had women come on this forum asking for advice over issues in the congregation - and would only speak with "elders." When one woman (zazu) tried to encourage her - she said "no thanks. I'm looking for an elder's opinion." Zazu, one of the more intelligent persons here, was dismissed by this woman. Why? Because Zazu is a woman. Check some of the men's tradiontional respones to outspoken women - both genders come with baggage.
Interstingly enough, to a greater/lesser extent - it's pretty much the same in the Real World (depending on where one lives).
Larc & JT (men) made some excellent points - as we see things the same, yet differently. We converse differently, have different issues at times. At USC, they offer a class in Psychology of Women. I thought it was New Age crap at first - then the male professor was telling us about it. Women have issues & fights & disorders that are pertinent to them - and it helps to understand them. Interesting concept.
As brought out, JanG has done much....and she used to post here regularily. However, after heated discussions with a couple of posters - she left. Imho, she was slammed hard. Btw, the heated discussions were primarily with women, some who aren't here anymore either.
As for why some of us (myself included) don't do more for "the cause?" Dunno. Barbara Anderson, Barbara Harrison, Tishi, JanG, some others who hold forums for others, have been mentioned so far - and I'm sure there's more. I was under the impression that Shaun (who has the site Shaun's Place) is a woman also. Tremendous information on that site - don't know why it's not shown in clicks more than it does.
