Purple, the case has been lain out very well. The reform needs to be made in a legal sense. If one is truly concerned about pediphile issues it is through washington that the reform must come.
Well a great big thank you from all of us who support and want to help the victims! Finally, more people are starting to walk the walk and not just talk the talk, right? So you will be setting up the march on Washington, hu? That is fantastic! I am sure you will do a great job. Of course, it will take a lot of work and time, but I am sure Bill Bowen can give you some pointers or hints.
Marching on the WT and slamming the WT is only a process of venting.
And that is a bad thing for victims to do?? To confront abusers, take back power, and vent??
No one knows or cares about silent lambs enough for those gatherings to imapct a change in policy.
How the heck do you know that?? Are you inside everyones mind?? Can you see the future?
Staying wrapped up here on this board one looses his senses in that one begans to think that silent lambs has made a greater impact than they have. Outside of this board- NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION>
That is just not true. Lots of non-JWs ARE paying attention. I have spoken to many people who saw that piece on Dateline and it DID matter to them. People ARE paying attention. Some people at work brought it up to ME, not the other way around. Plus, we have people on this board right now who are here because that Dateline made them think.
Date Line airs very week and covers many dif topics. It was a wonderful thing that such media was given to the plight of these vicitms.
At least we agree on that. :)
I will not go on and on. Laws must be made and enforced. Laws that have teeth. Failure to report a pediphile by a church- the church loses tax free status

I am so glad that you will be doing something about this. You ARE going to do something, right? Not just sit around and talk sh*t about what others ARE doing while you do nothing, right? Maybe this is why people are offended by your comments, I don't know. I am sure that people would come to your march on Washtington, too. The more people standing up for what is right, the better. We are all on the same side, right?

He has publicly stated his desire to dismantle the WT. He has demonstrated conduct that takes away from the credibility of his cause. From his bragging of the loud mufflers and sqeeling tires to his disrupting a JW meeting to make his own announcment. You guys need to back away from this thing long enough to really see what outsiders are seeing. You guys are so caught up in the thing that you have no concept of what others are feeling about silent lambs efforts.
Dont you mean we are too caught up in this board to have a concept of what YOU are feeling about the Silent Lambs effort? I have spoken to many people in the 'real world' about it and none of them have spoken as you do about itexcept for active JWs, of course.
And who the hell cares if Bill squealed his tires on the way out of the parking lot. His congregation wouldnt even DF him honestly without him taking a stand! He had to MAKE them announce it because they didnt want to do it in front of the reporter!!!!! It was an emotional night. It was the last straw. It was the night that his life as a JW was really, officially over. I would have wondered about him if there HADNT been some strong emotion shown.
And CRIPES!!!! Thats all you got?? He squeeled his tires, he is angry at the org, and he wants it to fall??? OH NO!!!!!!!!! NOT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sarcastic rolling of eyes here)
To effectivly persue the cause you have got to get real. There is so much anti jw sentiment among the group that the credibilty of this whole thing is lost. It is a darnded shame.
Listen. The fact that many in the group are ANTI JW DOES NOT TAKE AWAY FROM THE CREDIBILITY OF THE EFFORT. JWs say that because a person is against the WT they cant be believed . The rest of the world doesnt discount people for that. It's not good critical thinking. In fact, most of the rest of the world would be MORE inclined to believe an ex-JW than a JW, especially on this subject (of child molestation). I think it is time for YOU to get REAL.

Bill has a right to be angry and/or hurt by this. People talk smack about his morals, ethics and crediblility, and you don't think he has a right to get offended and pissed off?
If you are waiting for a PERFECT person to come and lead a movement to reform the WT(however you think it should be done), you are gonna have to wait untill Jesus Himself comes back, and see if he wants to do things your way. Otherwise, it is up to us regular people to do what we can. Bill is a regular guy. He has done e xtraordinary things. That is a GOOD, brave, and noble thing.
Hey, I wish you all well. I would not want this movement as it stand today representing the memory of my victimized cousin- she would not either.

(PS: The media only has so much time and space. Mass, dramatic demonstrations with people getting arrested in Washington won out that day over 150 quite people in NY with stuffed lambs. Period. That doesnt mean the media doesnt care, or that it is a lost cause, or that nobody cares. Jeepers creepers!!!!!! )
