I prefer it over being a gnostic atheist.
LOL, I love that.
Yes, I believe in God. Don't know if I believe in a divine Jesus though.

Hey Farkel,
I am just very happy that all of us now have the FREEDOM to ask "stupid questions", as opposed to being in the BORG, and not even being allowed to ask IMPORTANT QUESTIONS.
The Question on this Thread is not stupid though.

Also, I just wanted to say that if you believe in God the Father, and you do not believe in Jesus Christ, then you are NOT serving God at all.
John 14:6: Jesus said to him, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.
John 3:35: The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
John 3:36: One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won't see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." -

Do You Believe In God Or Not?
I don't know who the rest of you picked....but I picked Not
Not has the real truth. You can find everything you need to know about Not by typing it in your browser and hit go. Not is all knowing and is really cool too.

When a person is in good standing as a Jehovah's Witness, he follows the organization's rules and ideals and beliefs. One of the beliefs is that you have to believe in God. That's pretty simple. Now regarding your penchant for daring people to prove you or someone else's statement is wrong and to debate with you, why should I? Do you think everytime you make a pronouncement it has to be obeyed? I don't think so.For someone who detests JW's so much, you act like the bullies in Brooklyn most of the time. Were you ever an elder? Or do you just like to play the fool? Now remember something, Farkel, I still do love ya.

Undisfellowshiped,
Can you prove that statement without using the Bible? I would like your opinion on this matter without having a scripture thrown at me. I look forward to your post.

Lovingkindness
Hi Minimus,
I have believed in Jehovah (yahweh, our heavenly Father, (most high God) all of my life. I was born and raised a JW who got baptised in 1962, at the age of 14, but learned the truth about the so called "truth" years later in the summer of 1998 and left the WTS in the fall of the same year still believing in our heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I have now been "out" for over four years and my faith is even stronger in my belief of a loving and caring God who wants the best for His children.
The mistake we had made as JW was in doing what we had warned those at the doors from doing: Putting too much trust in man and not putting our full trust in God. (Psalms 118: 8-9 ... Psalms 146:3-8)
We should have trusted God to teach us His Word through prayerfully asking Him for His Holy Spirit for guidance while reading and studying His Word as He had invited us to at Proverbs 2:1-15 and our Lord Jesus also encouraged us to do at Luke 11:9-13. God will kindly give His Holy Spirit and knowledge to those asking Him. (Those who ask in faith, while at the same time, loving righteousness, that is) James 1:5
The wicked, God leaves in darkness: Proverbs 4:19 ... Prov. 15:28-29
Matthew 13:10-13Yes, our big mistake was in trusting the WTS organization to teach us what is in the Bible. (Same mistake many Christians make when relying soley upon their ministers to teach them from the pulpit what is God's Word from the Bible. Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees "blind guides" and if the blind follow the blind, both will fall into the pit.
Putting too much trust in men to teach us allows Satan the power to mislead. 2 Timothy 3:13
The creation (what we can see with our eyes and other senses) shows to me clearly (even if we didn't have the Bible) that there is a loving God who does care for us very much. This period of time since Adam and Eve's fall is a time of training for humans. After all, didn't they eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad? God gave them (and us) a taste of what the bad is. Soon, we will enjoy and learn of what the "good" is; true righteousness, God's love and God's goodness. The Bible calls this period, the time of darkness, but when Christ arrives to sit on his throne (Matt. 25:31) this will be what the Bible describes as the "morning". (The Night will then be past) Psalms 30:5
This is what I have come to learn. Trust in God. Everyone has the right to make their choice, but I believe that God truly appreciates our love, trust and faithfulness. Proverbs 27:11 Jesus not only was sent from God for our salvation, but as a representative from God, to show us the Father's qualities, love and mercy. Just because organizations of men fail us, does not mean that God does.

Hello Robyn,

I wouldn't even know about God the Father or Jesus Christ if I hadn't read in the Bible.
The Bible is where I learned about God the Father, and I believe in Him, and the Bible is where I learned about Jesus Christ, and I believe in Him.
I believe what the Bible says.
However, people who have never heard about Jesus Christ, will be judged by the merciful loving Lord, Christ Jesus.
I have also heard that people who have never heard about Jesus have had dreams about Him.
So that may be another way that Jesus helps people to know about Him.
I don't think there's anyway I could "prove" my statement without using the Holy Scriptures.

Is there a god?
Yes. Is his name Jehovah? I don't know, but He answers to that name when I pray to him.
That is how I know that He exists, because He answers my prayers. One way or another, in due time. Not just in mere coincidental curcumstance, but in emotional support (allowing me to forget my money worries and sleep) and other ways.
Is He the ultimate Creator? He says He is, and I have no reason to disbelieve Him. Plus I like Him, and if He wants to say He made it all, I'll back Him up on it. It's a harmless statement, anyway.
Are there other gods and goddesses? I haven't needed to find out.
I think that Jehovah is the true Creator of all mankind, because He is still my God, even though I detest Judaism, Zionism, and resent the way that the Jewish sect of Christianity subsumed my native culture. I think He has been misrepresented, because all He asks of me is to live in peace with my fellowman, and to enjoy life, thanking Him for it every day.
