You obviously don't understand, only because you are blinded by your sin. Ephesians 2:1 says "we were once dead in our sins" You still are. I am now made alive through Christ Jesus' sacrifice and ressurection, which prooved His reign over death.
I don't get what you are trying to claim either... Kill my own kid, because I didn't like your quote. You've said I wasn't very good at arguments, well you aren't so swell either.
calvin,
You're bugging the heck out of me. Anyone who actually believes and is trying to share their faith in a rational manner is squirming when they read your ridiculous Bible-thumping posts.
You need to take a class on logic and debating. Your current logic goes like this, "What I say is true is reliable because I say it is. And if you don't believe me, listen when I say it's true. And then I SAY IT LOUDER and call you NAMES! I evade your arguments by calling you a blinded sinner that God has pre-selected to damnation, which you deserve even though you had no choice in the matter."
There is no message of hope, only twisted logic and troll-baiting.
From someone who finds inspiration in the way God has dealt kindly and mercifully with mankind and seeks to further his interests, "Quit quoting scriptures you don't understand, and learn what this means, God wants mercy and not sacrifices."
Czar 1:1.
Not divinely inspired by anyone but Czar, and you can believe that.

Calvinist I will light douse your Bible in gasoline, light your Bible and watch you piss on the flames...
How dare you judge me!!
czarofmischief - God cannot become man. Solomon said that the heavens themselve could not contain his grandeur, so the shell of a human being could not. Only a representative could fit.
Why? Are you saying that God is limited and he can't do anything? Not even become man and die for us?
MrMoe - Calvinist - Do me a favor. Proove the accuracy of the bible. Why should Lilacs even buy into the heaven and hell concept? The bible is a book, not something to live by. Now, proove the bible is accurate, proove it is the "Word of God." Give it your best shot.
There's a great book called "Evidence that Demands a Verdict".
Evidence That Demands a Verdict is an easy-to-read, front-line defense for Christians facing the tough questions of critics and skeptics. Using secular evidences and other historical sources.....
The proof you want is there in this book...

For those of you that questions his love and sacrice of his only Begotten Son...
Let me ask you this question..but first...let me illustrate this story....
A man who's occupation is a draw bridge operator. He opens the bridge to allow the boats to cross under the bridge and closes the bridge to allow the train to cross over the bridge.
One day he brought his son over to visit where he works. The little boy is having fun watching boats float on by and the train crossing the bridge. The son, unbeknowist(s?) to the father, wandered off while the father is busy working on maintaining the equiptments. Then he sees that a train is coming, so he gets ready to throw a switch to close the bridge, but to his horror he sees his son had crawled under the bridge and there is no room to keep his son from being crushed if he closed the bridge.
The train is coming and he can't run out and pull his son out and then close the bridge in time for the train to cross over the bridge and there isn't time for the train to stop for it will derail and kill 200+ people on board.
The father had to make a decision and he had to make it quick. He had 2 choices, leave the bridge up to save his son and allow the train to derail and kill all the people on board or close the bridge and kill his son in the process so that the people on board the train could cross over safely.
He made his decision. He threw the switch and started banging on the window screaming and crying. The people who looked out the window saw him and saw his arms flailing and thought he was waving at them, they waved back at him. Not know the sacrifice he made to save them.
My question is this, if you were in the same exact position and faced the same dilemma as he did, which choice would you make?
God had 2 choices, he could have simply sent 10,000 angels to save his son from the cross (or stake, however you ever want to believe, it doesn't matter) and allow us all to die in our sins, or allow his son to be crucified so that billions of souls could have a chance at being saved from their sins.
Yiz,
Wow, you've openned up a can o' worms with that lame-ass analogy. I'll sit back and watch it get shred to pieces. I can't believe you actually believe such ridiculous stories make god out to look like anything more than a short-sighted deadbeat dad.

My question is this, if you were in the same exact position and faced the same dilemma as he did, which choice would you make?
I would make the same decision, but only because I'm not omnipotent. If I could save both my son and all the people on the train, then I would. Anyone who wouldn't is an inhuman monster.
The analogy, of course, is as rem described it "lame-ass". To correspond more closely to your god, the bridge operator would have to have raised the bridge unnecessarily, deliberately endangering the lives of the people on the train, and then sent his son out as a sacrifice so that his own twisted sense of justice would allow him to close the bridge. And then kill most of the people on the train anyway, because they didn't know what he did.
: My question is this, if you were in the same exact position and faced the same dilemma as he did, which choice would you make?
: God had 2 choices, he could have simply sent 10,000 angels to save his son from the cross (or stake, however you ever want to believe, it doesn't matter) and allow us all to die in our sins, or allow his son to be crucified so that billions of souls could have a chance at being saved from their sins.
False dilemma, which is a classic logical fallacy often used by religionists to justify their insane nonsense. You've argued that God only had two options. Anyone with half a brain can see there are a LOT more than only two choices: he could stopped us all from being sinners and NO one would have to die. He could have replaced Adam and Eve with another couple and stopped us all from having to die. He could have not had that stupid fruit test to begin with, or at least given Adam and Eve another chance. Or he could have let them reproduce first and then made them die.
But NO! Got killed billions of people by letting them die, killed countless others by personally murdering them (including the entire planet - 8 one time), and to get himself out of that mess HE caused to happen in the first place, he killed his own son.
Some God you got there. Some Father role-model you got there. Some crappy argument you got there.
