    Meadow,

IMO, you're "prayers being answered" was probably just your own deeds, your own hard work and patience paying off in ways you didn't expect.

I think that we as humans don't give ourselves enough credit....God doesn't do everything.

I understand what you are saying meadow,,,,,, BUT........why would God answer YOUR prayers for me,,,,,,,,,,and not answer my own? I will tell you a little about how I pray.......... I don't ever ask for anything personal.........not material things, I don't go to him like a spoiled child, when I want something. And as far as getting to know him........ I am 36 yrs old and have been praying on my own, in deep converstation with God( if he was listening I dont know) since I was 4yrs old, so I would think by now I would know him enough to qualify as knowing him as well as anyone could. I never bought into the fact that Jehovah didnt listen to everyone's prayers if they were not JW, I never judged that one. I was the type of person who could see the beauty of the stars, the trees the animals, my children and just thank God for giving me these things to see, so I appreciated God, not just at bad times in my life. When I was a JW , I felt God listened to me, but looking back I am pretty sure those things just happened , as they were allowed to by fate maybe.

And honestly I don't think I have experience any more pain than most ,,,,,that was not the point of my first post,,,,,,,, it is the suffering of God's children everywhere, every single one of them.

So if the problem is, I was in the wrong religion and I have to start over to find God,,, why?

Would the same God stay with me, knowing my heart, as he says he does?

This is just my personal viewpoint and I don't doubt for a second that many like you meadow, feel the power of God,,,,,,,,,, I can't say one way or another if it is really God or just your own strong faith. I am just saying that I have tried and tried for the last 2 yrs to find God, get that feeling, feel that faith and it is not coming to me. But then again why would God answers prayers from little ole me,,,,,,,, when I am sure there is some child out there praying to God to stop the abuse they are receiveing ,,,,,,,and He doesnt answer their prayers. I just IMO , do not think he is really involved with us humans for some reason.........and that is what I would like to know,,,,,,why not?

Logical - Does YOUR God do that to people? That is not very nice is it? It is really fair for those who have been misled their entire lives and messed around so much they understandably dont know what to believe?

As for all unbelievers being sent to "hell", read Matthew 25:34-40

Quit with the scare tactics why dont you?

greven - Would YOU burn someone forever for not believing in you? Would YOU torture someone for eternity because of the sins of a few years? I think most people can't and wouldn't. However, an entity that claims to be LOVE itself would do something like that to, possibly, millions?!

Sadly enough, I know parents that hit their children as punishment, but I know none that would torture their children for their mistakes no matter how hardheaded and severe these mistakes may be. But The Loving Father has no problem with this...?!

The Dead Are Judged Revelations 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

    John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am I claim to be>, you will indeed die in your sins."
(Whole Chapter: John 8 In context: John 8:23-25)

If you reject Jesus as your Lord and Savior and if your name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life, you're history. The bible is very clear about that.

People who do nice things for their church and yet never really knew Jesus because they tried to do good works for the Lord rather than asking Christ to come into their hearts and have their sins forgiven...Jesus said...

Matthew 7 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Logical - As for all unbelievers being sent to "hell", read Matthew 25:34-40

    Looking it up and reads...

Matthew 25 34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

You failed to mention in verse 41and 42 what happens to those who did nothing for His people....

Matthew 25 41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

Satan's number one goal is to make sure a soul NEVER knows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The more that do not know and believe, the better he likes it. He knows his time is short, so before he goes down, he wants to make sure that he's able to take as many souls as he possibly can with him.

That includes making sure people who never heard of Jesus remain never hearing of Him, making sure that Atheists remain unbelievers of God and INCLUDING JWs who are told that Jesus is only for the anointed class and He is not for the earthly class.

LyinEyes, we don't know why God doesn't answer EVERY single prayer, but I continue to pray regardless if I ever get an answer or not. God has answered my prayers on a number of occasions.

One good scripture comes to mind...

Matthew 18 19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

I do that alot with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. It helps tons.

Meadow 77,Hi ! Your wrong about me meadow. I never mentioned for God to stay out of my backyard.Nor did I say to get rid of sins I detest.I never ever said that I was angry at God either.

What I did ask was, "Why don't God get rid of the death penalty and all kinds of human suffering that goes along with it."

We don't have that kind of kindness to do what I'm asking God to do.When you mention acts of kindness, I know you have a good heart and would extend that kindness to end all human suffering and death if you could.

We are limited,God is not,I only ask that God use his kindness to the fullness of his ability to do so,not limit it because of the actions of others. Blueblades

Take for example the whole Clinton oral sex scandal. Most Americans found it funny. No big deal. The big deal is that it was immoral and adultery. But our moral senses are so dull, that we don't even care anymore. Overtime we hold up this as our moral fabric bumper sticker "it's no big deal" Well, it is.

You seem to be under the impression that such dalliances are a new occurence that can be blamed on lax moral standards. The only thing new about the clinton 'scandal' is that it got reported. I don't find a BJ immoral and if Hillary can live with it, I think we can.

    ZAP!

You're now a robot. You're programmed to do exactly as God intended you to do. You are incapable of sinning because you have no free will, let alone God be the only one that has free will.

    Is that better now?

Can you live with the fact that your daughter is out there somewhere giving every man she meets a BJ?

How about if she's a porn star?

How would you feel seeing every man eyeing your daughter with lust in their eyes as she walks along side with you?

How about if she got married, but has sex with other men other than her own husband?

Do you have any problems with any of the above?

    Yizuman-

You don't seem to be getting the point. People wonder how any being, especially one that is all powerful let's his creation suffer. Forget about man's free will. What about God's free will to change things? God obviously messed up when he made us. So why not fix what he started? Why not?!

    Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

    Thanks a lot.

StinkyPants - You don't seem to be getting the point. People wonder how any being, especially one that is all powerful let's his creation suffer. Forget about man's free will. What about God's free will to change things? God obviously messed up when he made us. So why not fix what he started? Why not?!

Because that would be interfering with free will. It would be hypocritical of God to butt in and tell us what to do or change things just because he doesn't like what he sees. He's a free will being and he made us a free will being the same. The only exception is that He rejects evil and sin by choice.

It's our choice to either embrace good or embrace evil. We can't choose both.

Another thing is that people are plain forgetting that when small children dies, they aren't REALLY dead simply because their spirits are with God and at a place where they are forever safe. Their flesh dies, but their spirits do not. Children who are under the age of accountability automatically go to heaven. Those who are of the age of accountability who dies will be judged unless they already have their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Atheists who get ticked off at the death of children and blame God (ironically even when they don't believe He exists in the first place) for what has happened to them. It seems that they blame God more than they blame man for their deaths. I just find that plain weird.

Sure it's easier for God to fix the problems, but that's still interfering with free will. So instead of blaming what's wrong with this world, why not man just get off their asses and do something about it themselves? I do it everyday whenever I can. If I had enough money to give it to charity so they can buy food and medicine to poor countries that need it, I'd give it.

If man stopped shooting each other and laid down their weapons and do something about world hunger and build shelters for every human being who don't have a home and a place to lay their heads on, we could make a HUGE difference.

If 1 million people got together and donated 1 dollar a week, that's a million bucks a week, that money could be well spent to help people in need.

But problem is, not ALL man is doing that. Too many don't give a crap about anyone but themselves. They're too busy working their butts off to pay the bills and feed their families. They're too busy to even pay attention to what's really going on to really care to do something about it. It's a sad reality.

The bible says that God will hold each and every one of us accountable for what we do as individuals, but also that the bible says that we will be held accountable as a NATION.

Meaning that when we allowed abortion to become legal and we didn't do anything to stop it, we will be held accountable for over 40 million babies dead since 1973.

If we rised up and marched to Washington (as many have already in the past and still the Congressmen ignored them) and tell them we want abortion stopped and I mean every single Christian and Jews and Muslems and any religious person who opposes abortion to march out there and let them know as voters that we will not tolerate the killing of the unborn children, otherwise we'd vote them out in the next election.

I wish we had already done that back in 1973, but we can't take back the children who died in the name of convedience and so called "choice" (whereas the unborn baby has no choice).

In any rate, I blame all religious organizations out there who sat on their butts in the sanctuary and did nothing about it to prevent Roe v Wade from happening nor have they rised up and objected to the killing of the unborn after Roe v Wade came to pass.

So let's stop pointing fingers at God and start pointing fingers at the evils of man and let's roll our sleeves and dig in to fix the problems ourselves. We can do it. Just lemme know when ya gonna start it and I'll be there.

Edited as I see Stinky added something else....

    Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Ok, let's also take a look at this....

    Genesis 4Cain and Abel

1 Adam [1] lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. [2] She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth [3] a man." 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD . 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." [4] And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?"
"I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"

I think he asked a pretty darn good question, he was trying to weasle his way out of responsibility for killing his brother. Note he was being sarcastic when he asked the question.

Are we accountable to one another? I would say yes. We should be everyone's keeper and watch out for each other in love. Unfortunantly, we all aren't doing that. If we did, we wouldn't be on this forum criping about what's wrong with this world.
