    and to Sunspot above...

Mr. Scaglione was a wonderful speaker and man. I met him in the early 70's when I was 12 or 13. I even mention him in my book but I don't use his name. He had righteous indignation, wit, warmth and a loving heart.

Does any remember a Vincent, Art Powley, Jakobson, Mayes (pronounced anyway)?

    Kismet,

If someone would be willing to call the KH that Wasyl and Roxane once attended in MN at 1-763-561-2327 maybe some info could be gleaned. I can't call for personal reasons.

    jbean,
Bro. Kionayavich(SP?) was my favourite DO as well. His talks were actually interesting, and he was very funny, too. Had a tendency to plug the Org. too much, but hey, he was a DO!

Being a straight male I don't have a crush on the guy, and how long ago was he serving you guys, he's kind of old now.

Go therefore and baptize the people in the name of the father and of the son... what the hell, we just need to bring up the yearbook numbers!

DO: Ray Cowling (Cold as ice, spoke in a whiny drawn out voice, good speaker though, gave nice talks)
CO: Andre Willys (The nicest JW I've ever met that had responsibilitys)

This dates you a bit, ApostleAK. Sure you haven't got a much longer connection with the Borg than you've mentioned?

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

Favs: Ray & Marti Harriman...the guy showed real class with my mom who had physical & learning disabilities but was a Regular Pioneer.
Vernon Wheeler...bald fellow...used the line that the young men used before Elisha called the bears out to eat them..."Go up you bald head, go up." Always made me laugh. Best line from him in Field Service was, "I know you did not expect me, or else you would have had a (cold/hot drink depending on the weather)."

Least Favs: Charles Sinutko...major jerk with an ego the size of Alaska.
Billy Ford...fit the sterotype of a red neck all the way to the red suspenders

Others: Bruce Beach, Kite (first name I forget), Knew Oscar Pillars from his time in New Mexico. He was best known for supposedly snapping a brand new lynching rope during WW2 in the deep south.

    Anyone know of Wes Cheatham?

CO: John Cook -- 1980's NJ Spanish Circuit 9 -- What a jerk. I was just a little kid and I remember disliking him immensely. He once interrupted his talk, in front of a packed audience, to instruct a sister in the back row to take her crying toddler out of the auditorium. It also bothered me a lot that he was serving the spanish circuit and didn't know the language very well.

Rene (can't remember his last name) -- Single brother, mexican background I think. Huge chip on his shoulder against women. I didn't know him very well.

We had a couple of good COs... can't remember most of their names though. Ted Ament was pretty good. Had a bible-reading campaign for the young ones that worked very well. Probably the only reason I have ever read the entire Bible cover to cover. (Would never do that today) I was a rebellious teenager at the time. I remember him being pretty sympathetic about the type of problems I was having, even told me some stories from his youth. Very approachable.

I will try to remember more.
