I remember Arlen Meier. Great guy. He and his wife served our congregation in the mid 70's. District overseer then was George Cook, also a neat guy. Both were real "company men". I might not have such a good feeling for them now. And, no one mentioned Arlen Meier before. I've read all the postings.

Didn't have time in my last post where I remembered John Mason.
Favorites: Kriefall (forget first name) and Carl Steinhart. Steinhart was so softspoken and so was his wife Audrey. Once I got into trouble for cursing and some of the elders (one we nicknamed The Enforcer) were ready to throw the book at me. Brother Steinhart was out with me in service and in between houses he basically just said "you shouldn't use bad language. If you were reproved you couldn't go to bethel or pioneer for five years". Company line to be sure but he was so gentle when saying it, I felt like he felt bad to get onto me even that much. I really liked Brother Steinhart. The one I DIDN'T LIKE:
Antrim Smith.
Little sawed-off two-faced pious holier-than-thou son of a bitch. (pardon my french, ladies)
Told me one day in service I was on my way to being a ministerial servant. Then told the PO I was on my way out of the truth.
Ok, make that a CLAIRVOYANT little sawed-off two-faced pious holier-than-thou son of a bitch. (had to get that one in again)
Think I'll start a thread, how bout favorite/least favorite elders? -

Ed Kriefall. Before circuit work, he was a barber. He really liked those really short cuts ... was horrified when styles got longer.
Maximus, we must have run in the same circles.

Let's see..I only remember the following names.
Brother Langly, Brother Block, Brother Pellecia, Brother Casino.
Brother Block very funny...always made jokes on the platform. I remember one talk about the walls of Tyre...White wall tyre...Well I guess you had to be there (so to speak).
Brother Pellecia (sp?) was one of the best. I remember he came to our house for a meal and my mom made a meal for him and his wife that would choke a pig. The rest of the cong was mad at her because he was still stuffed 2 days after.
Bro Casino was OK, the rest just sucked.

HELLO MAXIMUS!!!!!
Hope you enjoy your visit here - and want to hang around! As for CO's
I haven't run into any bad ones, really. As for mis-information - yup. Scogsburg (originally from Colorado?) who was assigned in SC around 1990, first assignment. This was during my many problems with memory. He called Society, and they said that taking sodium pentathal (sp?) i.e. truth serum was "no problem."
Years later, that was to bite him in the butt, btw. DO was quietly pissed about it when he set the whole matter straight.
Manny Balbutin is our new one CO. Never met him. We had been dealing with the Service & Legal departments for over a year when he was assigned to our area - another newby. Upon calling them at our request, they told him not to talk to us because we talked to a lawyer about a real estate deal we had with our body of elders. Manny was dumb enough to tell us that the Service dept. said not to talk to us. So we stopped talking and left.
Good move on our part.

To add to your list:
I remember A.A. Worsley - very down to earth and humble.
Wilbur and Marie Filson. Super people who were "family"
Nick Kovalak who was WYSIWYG.
Angelo Catanzaro who was a spirited speaker. Typical Italian personality - very warm. Mary was such an asset.Angelo Manara who was D.O. - motivating speaker - did not know him personally.
Wm. Van deWall - good speaker served us as D.O. and C.O.
David and Shirley Olson - Served as our C.O. before bethel.
Chuck and Ellie Valorz. Chuck had the most interesting stories to tell. He could keep you on the edge of your seat. C.O. and D.OBut then there have also been those who thought that they are Princes and should be riding on horses and us peons should be
walking.RVW

Beware of organization… it is wholly unnecessary.
