I wish I could click on this thread and that stupid flash program wouldn't run! It's driving me crazy! We can't have a serious discussion here with that going on in the background.

War is too profitable. I'd love to see the politicians of the world out on the field shedding each other's blood.
So far the only ones I have seen profit by this war are the big corporations.

What I really hate about the whole thing is that the US has to pay for all this . GW is giving tax breaks to the rich while expecting to pay for nation building in Iraq and afghanistan . America is struggling to build it's own economy and I don't see how they can justify putting the taxpayer in more debt .

Also GW cuts the benefits of the veterans, the ones that put their lives on the line for his war. Isn't this the same GW during the Vietnam war that took the easy way out?

yes, but he's a politician and the president. so it's forgivable, forgetable and meaningless. god bless GW.

GRRRRRR!!!!!!! That's one phrase that pisses me off above all else. Let's call it what it is truly. President Bush wants tax cuts for the people WHO ACTUALLY PAY TAXES. Even after the tax cuts, the "rich" will STILL PAY TAXES. They will just get to keep more of THEIR MONEY. So don't even start with this junk about "tax cuts for the rich" when 50% of income earners in this country pay 96% of the taxes.
There was a war over taxes early on in our nation's history. In case the lesson has been lost, why not ask the Brits here how it turned out.

Just read this:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush ( news - web sites) may seek an additional $40 billion or more for military operations in Iraq ( news - web sites) and Afghanistan ( news - web sites) next year -- on top of the $400-billion military budget he will send to Congress next month, congressional sources and budget analysts said on Wednesday.
