hooberus said One of the reasons why I started this thread is because of your comment on another thread: "And of course I love it when Jesus prays to himself because he is God" Have you read "When Jesus became God" yet? You will never convince a Trinitarian and they will never convince me -- I really should not have posted and just kept my mouth shut -- it was a key raeson why I became a witness -- the Trinity is just about the most nonsensical doctrine I have ever heard - I just can not rationalize it - -from a history point of view, a common sense point of view -- and yes it is possible to make a case out in the scriptures-- but hell the scriptures (NT in particular) were put together by trinitarians anyway -- Yahweh is God, Yeheshusa ben Joseph is God and even the Holy Spirit is God -- crazy -- so were Isis Osiris and Horus

If Jesus had one more persona he could have a good game of pinochle going all by himself!

As a monotheist pantheist, i have no problem w your concept, hoob. I suspect that you have problems w mine, though. If all are conceptions of god, then all who pray are really praying to themselves, ultimately. We shouldn't be that much like jesus, though, should we?

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick, all the really cool threads get locked and idiotic shit like this keeps going 2,000 years after the fact. Get a life, some of you.

Whats happening here is you all are are speaking as if The Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit talk TO each other in a linear fashion. Dont think of it as in point A. to point B. to point C......think of it as AROUND & THROUGH & IN & OUT....UP & DOWN. Only Jesus Christ could & can make a mortal man/woman see the prize ie: salvation. Humans can only relate to the tangibles, sad but true. The first Christians had the SOLID truth. I dont have close family ties to the tangible Christ but through body numbing prayer & faith Ive found MY personal truth.

    Herk,

As much as I generally don't like the kind of stickers you use to cut and paste (not that I am a Trinitarian -- I am closer to atheism really -- but I tend to find them pretty shallow), I must admit the last one makes a valid point. As history shows, the Nicene Trinitarian creed cannot stand very long without the Chalcedonian creed of the "two natures of Christ", which I feel is the worst pair of glasses for reading the Gospels: here Jesus speaks as a man, there as God the Son... Of course such a harmonizing system is necessary to make, say, Mark's and John's Jesuses appear as the same person, but it just results in distorting all the texts. My take is to avoid harmonizing as far as the NT texts are concerned.

The diagram that herk pasted is inaccurate, in that it presents the Trinity as being composed of four persons instead of three. The diagram presents the two natures of Christ as different persons when in reality Christ is one person with two natures (not two different persons).
