    Gumby,

I understood all but this part. "Care to esplain Lucy"?
I am not saying that there is no answer to this question, there may well be, that is why I remain agnostic over such issues, but I do believe that to introduce a moral compass into humanity and not give them answers to such neccessary questions leaves God with many questions of his own to answer, the main one being, 'What does my permission of wickedness and my long-term silence about the matter show about me".

The question is answered in the rest of the sentence.

All that time, I thought Hillary was answering his original question, "Why does God permit Minimus?".

Hillary....this statement was the part I didn't understand. How do you mean that god has questions to answer....of his own?

BTW....I liked your statement.....just didn't get the end part.

The question belies an attempt to re-define "god", not an unexpected aspiration once one has left the "Jehovah" cult. It is also an endless journey.

more like dead-end journey, imo. Though people have a tendency to circle round endlessly, once they've hit that dead-end.

The best explanation I heard was: Life's a 1000 piece puzzle in which we have only a couple of dozen pieces. Enough to see an outline and a few shapes or figures, but definitely not enough to see a clear picture. Yet, with all of the pieces in place, there is indeed a wonderous picture.

I can't speak for God (who can), but I can equate it to exercise.... no pain, no gain... if the wicked were always stopped, how could people strive to excel emotionally, physically, whatever? We make choices because we are challenged. Civilization as a whole moves forward because it has always been challenged in one way or another. I'm not saying that's the answer, I'm just saying we look at the few pieces of the puzzle we have and try to guess at what the picture is, when in fact, we're probably so way off it's pathetic. my 2 cents...

LOL....Sounds like we know some of the same people.

"God", is a conceptualization, an idea; as is "wickedness". There is Truth, untouched by suffering; and it is the only Truth there is. It is not found via concepts, beliefs and ideas, or trying to figure it all out. But instead through looking deep within our being to investigate if this seemingly very real me-in-a-wicked-world is true. Who am I really? j

Why would God and wickedness be a conceptualized idea but 'truth untouched by suffering' not? Best regards - HS
