Oh, wow ... many fond memories of the back seat of a Pinto. Cramped, yes ... but I was younger & more limber then.
It's a motorbike made by Honda, I guess it seats two but I did see a whole family traveling on a moped when I was in the Dominican Republic!
And yes I think motorbikes and our small British cars which come under fire on this board (in a joking kind of way) are part of the answer, especially when oil runs out.
I thought we went into Iraq to steal the oil? What went wrong?
Yeah, what the hell?
I was just wondering what cars really get 70 miles per gallon of gas.
i was thinking the same thing. On the other hand, if there is a need (and profit) someone will come up with one.
UK Gallons (4.546 L) are bigger than US Gallons (3.785)
Toyota Prius does 60 MPG Urban / City and about 70 on non-urban using a hybrid power system. Ford have licensed it and do an SUV that gets a respectable 45MPG
Honda also have a hybrid power car.
These use combination of electric and petrol engines using normally wasted kinetic energy (when braking for instance) to charge the batteries and whichever power is more efficient given the driving conditions (or both together for a boost when overtaking)
Here you go 80 mpg (UK gallon) in poroduction

OK, Ball. If I'm reading the figures correctly, the vehicle has a top speed of less than 30 MPH and lacks the load capacity to carry even my small family of two adults & two children, let alone any luggage they need for even a short weekend trip? What does the owner of such a vehicle do when they want to shop at the lumberyard or go camping for the weekend? I'll stick with my GMC.
