mission impossible 2 - I can't stand john woo with all of his slow motion action scenes
Tom Cruise as James Bond. Why he had any other agents on his team when he could do everything is beyond me. I hated Mission: Impossible for that matter. Wait just a minute! Jim Phelps is now the chain smoking bad guy? All those years watching his character on TV and we are supposed to believe he turned traitor for the money. If the man was going to be dishonest, he had plenty of opportunities to skim here and there before that and without the risk of faking his own death, exposing himself as a traitor, being on the run for ever after that, and being killed by some pipsqueak James Bond wannabe. Gimme a break! Tammy

Oh, you are so right! After the Wrath of Khan (my fav Trek flick) I expected much better. I only really liked a couple after that.
Also, you are spot-on with the Tom Cruise thing! He was so good in Born on the 4th, why, why, why, Tom do you insist on wasting your talents? uggghh!
I'll be interested to get your take on the new Stepford Wives. We seem to have similar tastes.

I am so with you on the John Woo stuff.

hahahaha, no thanks, once was enough. If I want T&A, I'll rent the XXX of my choice! Then again, it would be fun to watch it with y'all whilst downing a couple of martoonies.
Interesting Hollywood fact ---> only about 10% of the flicks made, make it to the big screen. The other 90% are shelved or released direct to video because they only promote the ones they think will make the most bucks. It's all about the money, peeps, and has little to do with quality.

Just saw your post. You saw It's Alive? Me, too, at the theatre. OMG, it was the worst horror flick! When the 'baby' would leap out of the carriage, those fangs! hahaha
It was back in the late 70s, we had snuck in and were sitting in the front row, hunched down smoking doobies.
I'll never forget when the guy went into the basement, one of the tense moments. My boyfriend grabbed me and I screamed! Talk about paranoia, I was sure we'd get caught. hahahaha Ah, youth!

Splash 2. Saw it on the Disney channel once. It was sooooo bad we couldn't stop watching it.

I don't have many DVD's, but I do have Risky Business which I love. It was one of the best teenage angst/ coming of age movies in the 80's along with Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Stand By Me.
So I'm not a Tom Cruise hater, just a hater of the way his career has turned lately. Maybe he picks his movies the same way he picks his religion.

LOL! I love that movie! I loved the wartime recruitment propaganda.
Drop Dead Fred
Another movie I liked! You have to watch that when you're really tired... suddenly the movie is hilarious!
but I thought that AI (by Kubrick/Speilberg ??) was absolutely CRAP!!!
I saw it a long time ago but enjoyed it. Except the ending.
