    Turpentine...KEROSENE *faints*

I found this one and told my wife once. She says it sure works.

She had a yeast infection, tried prescription remedies, none worked.

I had read this somewhere. Take a clove of garlic, shape it appropriately if necessary and shove it wherever.... Yeast infection gone almost overnight.

Only one drawback, don't go anywhere near the premises, the fumes may kill any aspirations one may have.

Gulp How do you get it out again, if it stays in , say, all night ? Does it just dissolve and disappear ? Does it really work ?

LOL, Sheila! Yeah, but I can tell ya, it worked for my youngest (thank gawd I discovered L-Cysteine since then) when he had croup so bad one night he was struggling to suck air into his lungs...as soon as the filling stations opened, I bought 50 cents worth of kerosene...broke it up in under 30 mins.

German homeopaths use this one. For an earache, put half an onion over your ear (flat side down, obviously) and then strap it to your head using a bandage. Onion slices laid around the bed at night help with a cold.

My mom used to make us steam with boiling water that had jicama in it for colds and sore throats. I remember it working.

vitamin E on cuts to prevent and/or heal scars

hold your breath and drink water for the hiccups...gets the epiglottis (sp?) wet

I'm curious about this "less odiferous" way Frannie. :)

Sheila - What does being married or not have to do with yeast infections anyway??

Lucky you, Sheila...have you ever done the "test" for it? http://pages.britishlibrary.net/lobster/candida/test.html

Great tip for the earache, MyAF! As for the colds and sore throats, I've learned to use L-Cysteine (an amino acid) for chest congestion (liquifies everything), Vitamin C and an antihistamine....we haven't had to use a steam vaporizer in DECADES....heheh

Good tip on the scars and cuts, Kaethra.(even incisions)...also breaking open a lecithin cap and rubbing that in will help it heal faster, too. I used to do the water thing for hiccups, but found just holding my breath and swallowing was sufficient.....after a while...lol

I'm sending you a PM, Kaethra.

My mom used to take powdered golden seal and mix a bit in with petroleum jelly (vaseline) and put that on cuts. They would heal faster. Her other "Bible" was Back to Eden which is an herb remedy book. I can't even begin to remember them all, just some of the herbs she used. She used to drink slippery elm tea for something. Who knows. I always thought she was a bit of a qwack in those days. Now I use some of them myself. In her case, though, she hated medical doctors and would not go until or unless it was a critical emergency.

Oh yea, mix a bit of baking soda in water, making a thick paste, dab it on a bee sting. It brings the stinger out. If you get sunburned put apple cider vinegar on it, it takes the sting/burn out and it doesn't peel as badly. Vitamin E on scars.

Those are some I can remember.
