Son is six years old, just about 7. As soon as he drinks his drink, he starts burping, and tooting, and giggling, and hes all better from there. My dads father was a "yaqui" indian (you would never be able to tell by my picture, except for the black hair), we used to refer to him for fun, as the medicine man. He had alot of cures for things, I wish we would have written down. My dad is somewhat like him, in the early 80's, before all the naturepaths and homeopathic remedies were so popular, my dad used to make his own herbal pills. bought the herbs, crushed them, put them in geltain pills. I remember him giving me a spoonful of fenucreek (sp) seed, you had to eat the seed, then swallow it down with water. Think this one was for allergies, but cant remember for sure.
Ahhhh, Netty...that's what it sounded like...gas....he sounds like a cutie.
I was wondering because I came across a remedy given us by a blind chiropractor in Dallas back in the early 70's....it CURES stomach virus....I don't use it the same way he gave it to us, cause it doesn't taste as good to stir a teaspoon of cinnamon up in a glass of water and gulp it down while it's still swirling....I prefer to put a coupla tsps of ground cinnamon in my coffeemaker basket and run a pot of water thru it....we can sugar it, drink it warm or ice it down, whichever we prefer....and any that's left over can be made into icecubes and bagged in the freezer for future needs....anyway....the cinnamon coats the whole digestive tract and KILLS the stomach virus....we drink it even if we've been around someone who might have a virus and my fam hasn't had a virus since the early 70's. :)
Oh yea, did anyone say warmed up (not hot) hydrogen peroxide for ear aches?
Nope...I don't believe anyone mentioned that one yet, Netty. I've used a cup of Clorox in my bath water (soaking head under) to kill the bacteria and an antihistamine to reduce the fluid in the ear....but that's a good tip...
