My bible still says nothing about who put the star there. Barry
Ever heard of "circumstantial evidence"?
circumstantial evidence n. Law. Evidence not bearing directly on the fact in dispute but on various attendant circumstances from which the judge or jury might infer the occurrence of the fact in dispute.
The bible tells us GOD created the heavens and the earth!--Vittvin.
Modern man now knows that the planets are not stars, as once thought. The "star" that the Magi saw wasn't any more a real star (sun) than what the planets are. They merely saw a glowing object in the sky, an object which they'd naturally intrepet as being a "star".
As a result of the star appearing there was an attempt made on Jesus' life.
As a result of jesus appearing there was an attempt made on his life. It suggests that it was satan who tricked jesus to do something wherein he would lose his life.
Schizm......don't you think there are millions who take christ seriously this time of year? Just because gift giving is not the real purpose in celebrating christmas it certainly isn't an evil thing is it? Does not much good come from the holiday? What was your intention in reminding others that a star is pagan? Was there something you were trying to say.....or did you just want to be persecuted a little more by others as a result of that thread?
I'll bet god is more pissed at you for causing a turmoil with others than he is with 100 people who have a star on top of their tree. Hey...since Christmas is only a day away.....maybe you could start another thread telling everyone how rotten it is.

No, it's not "simple" what you said, it's stupid.
An attempt was made upon Jesus' life, not as a 'result of his appearing', but because Herod wanted him dead. Herod, the Magi, and the "star" were all tools used by Satan in an attempt to bring about his death when but a child.

Speaking of being "pissed," I'm beginning to think that you're pissed about something I've said, Gumby. Am I right?
Notice that the "star" is held in awe ... some sort of an object that Satan himself caused to glow in the dark in order to cause the premature death of Jesus.

Your theory is stupid too. Three spiritual type guys wanna see jesus. So, god helps them w their wish. It's a stupid theory that satan would lead people to jesus. Hello.
Notice in the accompanying picture that the "three wise men" are following the "star". Also note the message (in red) that came with it. Now just where does the scriptural account mention that an angel appeared to the Magi? It doesn't! Likewise, just where does the scriptural account say that Jesus was yet to be born? It doesn't! Jesus had already been born, and was near to being 2 years old when they arrived at his "house" (not manger). True, ignorance can be bliss ... but who, other than a fool, really wants to be blissfully ignorant? And an Angel came unto them And they followed a Star For a King was to be born.

Thanks for acknowledging that what you said lacked intelligence. I don't believe the same thing can be said regarding my statements.
It wasn't the Almighty that helped them "with their wish". It was Jesus' enemy who did that.
Never mind, you're just playing games anyway. I won't bother to answer any more of your posts about this.
