No-one and especially not me Bliss is disputing that fact, that you can post as you see fit. What is it that is not clear here? I don't need to be reminded what this forum is about. I merely said that TO ME how nice it was to see reasoned responses in wishing her well.

What I do have trouble understanding is the outright ridicule of JWs at any and every expense, and at whatever cost all the time. The good wishes of some here proved me wrong that all ex-jw forums are negative all the time.

Please tell me what is not clear?

who cares? maybe she has a tougher lesson to learn than many of us have had. i needed to go through what she's about to go through and had to learn from it, and i wouldnt have changed my experience. if she doesnt learn from it, then its tufty shitski for her isnt it?

It is one thing to post a thread saying goodbye, I have decided to leave and join JWS, thank u , yada yada. that is not what holly did. She had to kick us all in the face while she was at it. It is BS and i said so. I did not appreciate her comments. I don't care if she leaves and goes back to JWS. I really don't b/c it has no affect on my life at all. But I do not have to be silent and be insulted by her.

Scoob so you are saying that all that had just said goodbye ,have a good life, in your eyes ,is a kind person, but to those who said goodbye you deserve what you get are not kind people.

Am i reading this wrong , because that is what i am getting out of your post.

Scooby, go and look at her post history, then go look at a huge number of comments trying to help her. Obviously none of what was said to her mattered in the end and as she clearly admitted she had her beliefs "before" she found the JW. You find that odd at all? Even if you don't go look before you keep opening ye olde gob.

Many here all the time are quick to label someone "Troll" and bandy it about far too much. Others are way to fast to judge someone sitting behind a computer screen they might not even understand forgetting that a person sits behind that screen. I was talking to a friend about this tonight and she said they probably wouldn't be like that in "real" life. Hmmm.

As far as JWs, of course I understand where many of you are coming from and realise that I am poking the eyeball, understand that not all feel the way you do though. Still the point I was trying to make was that it was refreshing to read replies from those who didn't split their spleen over it, but just wished her well. I thought that showed remarkable attributes.

Now who wants a punch up?

then you could have left it at that couldn't you? But one of your longstanding "attributes" has always been to chaffe at things you don't like people saying about the Witnesses, shined like new light huh Scoob?. You have been one fo the all time fence sitters here on JWD and should know people tire of hearing some blather on about how good they think JWs are, yet really know better at the end of the day.

    Hi Scoob:

I think that some of the anger you see here is from individuals who are simply in that phase of their healing process. There are 5 stages of grief:

    • Denial
    • Anger
    • Bargaining
    • Depression
    • Acceptance

People do not all go through these 5 stages in the same order - nor do they all take the same amount of time. However - as a general rule - they do all go through the 5 stages.

Leaving the JW's (or being kicked out) is a huge loss in one's life - a loss of family, friends, and a loss of that feeling of control. All of a sudden, we don't have all the answers and the landscape of our world is drastically changed.

So - those who have wished Holly the best are most likely individuals who have moved on to the acceptance stage (or perhaps they just don't really give a rats @ss). Others are angry, and that is ok - they are on the right path - they are healing. And last - there are individuals who have reached acceptance - but still feel a very strong pull to protect and respond to others who may be falling prey to a trap - I call it a righteous anger.

Things are not always just black and white - the world is full of grey zones.

As I posted in Holly's exit thread, I'm glad it played out the way it did. I don't think a stream of 'Take Care, Holly's would have adequately addressed the obvious Battered Woman Brain Syndrome that she was suffering from.

C'mon dude. In the interest of all who come to this board for knowledge, (like me) it would've a great dis-service.

If you saw a neighbor almost falling down drunk about to get into his car ... would you say, Take Care, or try to offer a semblance of wisdom for his own good?

You are dead right in your description of me Valis. I can't argue with that.

Dawn.....I understand about the stages of grief.......lol I had to study all that bloody stuff in my medical training! I'm not convinced of it all though, not everyone fits that same pattern. But believe me, I understand that not everything is black and white.
