Zoinks jeannie!!! I'm still here!

Everyone can cry foul if they like. Its ok.

See Scoob, this is one of the (many) points that people have tried to make with you for a long, long time. You CAN call things as you see them BECAUSE YOU ARE OUT OF THE ORGANIZATION!!! If you went back, as you so like to encourage others to do, you KNOW there is no real freedom of expression in the Organization. You know that if someone joins/goes back, and expresses any serious discontent with the Rules or "organizational procedure," the elders are NOT particularly sympathetic, and can in fact, be downright cruel and vindictive, depending on the individual.
I know this, you know this. Pull your head out of the sand and MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE! Your life is not compatible with the JWs, but you're stuck in the holding pattern in some bizzare effort to have them be right, or kind or generous, or ??? all things which they are NOT as an organization, though by some accident, some individuals may retain some of those qualities, in spite of the exclusionary teachings. I don't understand how you can know this, and yet still cling to them? I don't understand. I never will.
O
Silly, scooby, kicks are for trids! Besides, who's kickin?
Throws bricks at scooby!
And back at ya, there buddy-boy!
Jeannie
Ya know, I don't recall "encouraging" anyone here to go back to the Organisation here, maybe you can prove me wrong in that. The trouble is Odrade you will make a statement like that, and naturally people will add to it on that supposed quote that you attribute to me. Its happened so many times before.
Valis probably got it right in me being the most prolific fence sitter, and you know that made me laugh, because it is so accurate. I'm happy to be a fence sitter. I am inactive, I still read the mags, go to the very rare JW meeting, yet still hold an opinion. I think thats a good thing even if it does wind others up here. I've gone past the stage of getting on the defensive all the time. I can state my views/beliefs on something and despite being told that if I was "in" I wouldn't be able to etc etc I'M NOT. so I can, screw everyone that says otherwise. I'll say what I think, and likewise for others to me. Put me on ignore if its that much bother.
Heres something else for ya....... Unless I get deleted. I'll continue to do so.
Sorry if that means I don't become a member of the muppet gallery.

I left the Witnesses in 1989. I didn't take a firm stand until 1999 when I told Nina I would not go to the Memorial (this despite her ultimate weapon -- tears!). So I know a little bit about indecision. I remember the scripture that haunted me during those 10 years was James 1:7-8: "If you are that kind of person, you can't make up your mind, and you surely can't be trusted. So don't expect the Lord to give you anything at all."
In all candor I liked being a Witness. I liked being different, odd, weird or what have you. Probably because that fits me so well.
When I left, I felt as if something were torn out of me. I struggled for years to have it make sense. I realize now, in retrospect, I was looking at the problem backwards. I made the assumption that they were right, and I was wrong. It was like trying to put a jigsaw puzzle together with all the pieces turned wrong.
But there came the day when it hit me, as clear and crystal as a full moon. I could not do this any longer. To hell with Nina, to hell with eternal life, to hell with everything I believed to be true. I had to accept myself for who I really was. It was terribly frightening, but exhilirating at the same time. It was the first time in my life that I trusted myself. The second scariest thing was then to make the stand with others.
Anyway, don't mind me what do I know. I'm just rambling at the end of a glass of merlot.
OH NO!!! You know your thread has gone to crap when BIG TEX starts talking cranky.
Give Nina an Ouzo from me.......the poor woman.
Lordy.
