    You Know,
You have said you write the Society often, and tell them about "some pretty radical stuff for years." I have a question regarding that, has any of your "radical stuff" come true? How am I supposed to believe what you are saying now?
I remember when the United States with other NATO forces liberated Kuwait, and some radical Jehovah's Witnesses went crazy over it. They were saying how that would start the end of the "system", but it did not. Nothing has changed, the "system" is still here.

    Hilary S,

Your quote from John Buchan is superb, he hits the nail right on the head about UK / US relations.

Half the misunderstandings between Britain and America are due to the fact that neither will regard the other as what it is - in an important sense of the word - a foreign country. Each thinks of the other as a part of itself which has somehow gone off the lines…’

    Wonderful!

    Hello Englishman,

Having lived both sides of the pond a number of times it becomes more obvious to me each time.

By the way, I noted your posted 1972 photograph and I am now fully convinced that you are the chap that I lent five quid to in the White Hart.

You mention Tom Paxton, a real gentlemen but rather 'gone with the weed' in those strange days. Barely make it from the backstage door without guidance until he hit the stage, then magical. If you get a chance to hunt down Tim Buckley's 'Dream Letter - Live in London 1968', its worth a visit. Again, a magical concert recorded live at the Albert Hall, look out for 'Morning Glory', moves the heart to tears even in these craggier days. Thanks to my sister and her numerous paramours we managed to pick up a bassist for him for the event. He flew Transatlantic for a concert at the Albert Hall with half a band ( now that is typical Yankee! He bought Lee Underwood, guitar - Mmmm - nuff said ) but charmed them all, even Paul Robson who rose from the audience after the concert and paid homage to the vocal talent of a kid not yet into his 20's. Good days.

    Take care Eman - HS

    Captain You K.

Lets face facts you are an apostate acording to the WT definition.

So it's a very clasical case of the pot calling the kettle black.

You call us apostates and here you admit to doing things the WT calls apostacy.

    Captain You Know,

I think you are probably saying to yourself that I'm not an apostate, because I don't teach my ideas to the JW community.

But you do teach them here! And some that lurk here are still JWs in good standing.

I don't see any difference do you? whether here or at the Kingdom hall you are teaching different doctrine than the WT, that my freind is apostacy according to the WT definition.

I don't see any difference do you?

Of course I see a difference. Any JW who has had any level of exposure to apostate teachings on the net is possibly already beyond the point where WT teachings alone can reclaim them. That's why I never quote from the Wt in this type of setting. The Watchtower simply says don't read apostate stuff, that if you do you are liable to experience shipwreck concerning your faith. That warning is sufficient for most Witnesses, so that they won't come near you guys. And that's good. But, for a small minority who stray off, or who are just studying, or who are simply discouraged or disaffected or stumbled, or whatever, it may require a stronger dose of medicine. That's what I stand ready to administer.

I keep in mind Proverbs 24:11-12, which in case you sold your Bible at a garage sale or something, says: "Deliver those who are being taken away to death; and those staggering to the slaughter; O may you hold them back. In case you should say: "Look! We did not know of this," will not he that is making an estimate of hearts discern it?"

In the end, when things blow up the way I have described, more or less, those who are now staggering under the burden of doubt may perhaps be snatched from the fire. / You Know

    YK,

A serious question: Wouldn't your discussing causes of tribulation not officialy sanctioned by the WT be a source of stumbling to a JW who lurks here?

    Oh dear me.

The last time I came across the "Brand snatched from the burning" sketch was when a 15 year old JW girl was being grilled by the elders as to some pubescent dalliance that she was suspected of having partaken in.

I've seen it all YK, more than you could dream of.
