do JWs believe in dinosaurs?

So IF dinosaurs lived prior to Adam and Eve, then animals were created to die. AND I don't see what purpose they would have? God doesn't need to create anything organic to fulfill a purpose, eg, like the ''flattening the earth'' theory I heard as a child!!!

    Just reporting not supporting.

This is a technique the WTS uses when there is nothing specifically in the Bible and it raises questions that create dissonance in the JW mind.

"If God wanted you to know, he would have put it in the Bible"

The whale is about 4 inches (that's 7 inches in bloke-speak) to the right of the dinosaur in the NWT

Midwich, you deserve a fish-slapping for that remark! The problem is, where does one set ones datum?

Yeah Blondie, I got to hear that one a lot. I was an "inquiring" child. "There are some things God doesn`t want us to know". And "Since the fall of Adam and Eve, we have become more and more degenerate and imperfect, even so that scientists now say we are only using about 10% of our minds capabilities". I remember thinking about that last one, that since we are getting stupider and stupider, maybe we would eventually turn into monkeys (think I sort of mixed up the religion with the science/evolution-stuff I heard at school). Anyone else here heard that last one?

Hellrider - I used to try and accomodate both theories. I used to think (as I was taught to) that God created Adam and Eve, and from them humans continued but the bad ones evolved backwards (then I could justify to myself any evidence for evolution).

    Hi dorayakii,

LOL! It was a response to yesterday's word of the day thread from xjwms. Just a joke, no need for you to get yourself all awfulised about it (runs for cover----->)

    ig.

The fossil record of the dinosaurs supports not evolution but creation

Yes, and the great reptiles went extinct millions of years ago because they were found to fake their field service reports, persisted on walking around without clothes on. So DinoJehover wiped them out one by one, but one brother Rex, T. Rex, bit his leg so DinoJehover proceeded to create humans wwho have smaller canine teeth.

dinosaurs... from the Greek " deinos" meaning "terrible" and " sauron" meaning "lizard"...

an elder gave a talk once and said that Jehovah created them to fertilise the earth but Jehovah made them extint before Adam was created... but in the same talk the brother said that they had been destroyed at the flood along with the mammouth and the DODO (sic.) because Jehovah could only fit a certain number of animals into the ark... he obviously needed to brush up on his prehistoric as well as V ictorian history...

dorayakii of the "evil linguistic prescriptionist" class...

(now ain't that a tongue twister?)

: the brother said that they had been destroyed at the flood along with the mammouth and the DODO

Dude.. that CAN'T be true. Man if I were at that meeting I seriously would have calmly walked to the back of the hall, grabbed a field service report slip, wrote a disassociation letter on the back and handed it to the speaker. This would be breaching new unexplored lands of idiocy even for the Watchtower.
