Vassago, maybe if you read the whole thing first you will realize that it was something that a neighbor said.
You're all very right.
I failed to read it all through, I was upset about the whole "BLACKS DON"T WORK" title.
I AM VERY SORRY!! For stating how I feel about something.
I am sorry SixofNine!!
My children are my life, just because one or two people may be lazy, doesn't mean a entire race is.
People look down on my kids, until it has to do with sports, then they are the best.
My son is 5"11 and only 13 years old. He plays basketball wonderfully, and we have schools asking for him to transfer.
His uncle is a retired NBA player.
Again I am sorry!!
We can never judge a book by its cover!!!!
Kinda knew that was bound to happen...
I almost did the same thing until I reread it...

Don't be sorry, you were not rude anyways, just misunderstood.
Please know that much of what's written on these sites are "tongue in cheek". That means it's said with sarcastic humor.
Yes, and much of it is brilliant; there are a lot of sharp minds on this forum. Having written a column in a past life, I always found that with satire, no matter how cleverly worded the biting commentaries were, someone would take offense. Satire's a tough sell because a large portion of your audience is just not going to get it.
The master satirist of our time is probably Dave Barry, the Miami newspaper columnist and author. I've rolled on the floor laughing at his stuff and then shared a pertinent passage with someone else and gotten a blank stare. It's incomprehensible they didn't find it funny, but there you are. I think it must be a hard-wiring issue.

Once a person's sensitivities are touched upon by key words or phrases, it seems some people turn off critical thinking and turn on reactionism.
I am willing to bet that Vassago already had shackles up before reading the posting, just having seen the subject. Her reaction to the rest was pre-determined.
We all fall into this trap on occasion.

Daystar,
This is a good comment. I think as JWs, since we're not really taught to be critical thinkers, that we are more apt to be reactionary. It takes a long while to learn to breathe and sit back when the hackles go up. At least it has for me. And I still struggle with it. As for this thread, I know Sixy personally and understand his sense of humor. People that don't know him well have a tendency to take him wrong. But I have a feeling he likes that.
Andi
Hey, I dropped my jaw that Sixy would spout that, until I read the last comment.
Sixy, you ... erm... pot stirrer! Love ya!
