I joined a church last year, it's non-denominational.
So what do they do in a non-denominational church? Can people believe and do whatever they want?

He was so kind and sweet! He wrote out his name and address and said welcome and you can call me anytime. I am here for you! Here is a song book and Watchtower.
Its called "LOVE BOMBING" and the borg have perfected this technique.
Religion IS a Snare and a Racket, Amen Judge.

It is a christian missionary church - which means the church is active in establishing other churches here and overseas. Even though the church says it's non-denominational it is kinda conservative in it's views, but you can dress casual for services. No you dont have to agree to everything. And no people cannot do whatever they want. No crazy sex orgies here.

Excuse me Kid-A, you must be Kid-ding!
I wasnt "Love-bombed" by the hall. One elder was helpful and compassionate. Thats all.
One of my fears as a disfellowshipped person is the extreme shunning and real hatred I saw in the eyes of my own family members at my old hall.
It was the error and weakness of others I let stand in the way of my return these last 4 years.
Moving to a new town where few know me helped alot.
I appreciated this brother's initial kindness. It is how I feel Jehovah feels about me now.
You know nothing about me Kid-A nor what I did to get kicked out.
I got jailed buddy.
I've done alot of introspection and visited other churches since then.
It is my decision to give the JWs another look, this time without an overzealous fanatical JW husband.
I told my husband that if I ever seriously considered going back to the jw madness to have me committed to a psych ward immediately cuz I had just lost my mind.
Not implying that anyone here is crazy

Now, what was it that Jesus said? "By their fruits you shall know them..."
Can a religion that instills that kind of hatred have any connection with God?
Sorry you had to go through that.

I'm feeling very anti-religion today...didn't mean to insult folks for finding it beneficial for themselves and their families. At this time in my life, I cannot see myself returning to organized religion ever again, but who knows? Maybe at some point in the future I'll find some benefit in it? Unlikely, but then I thought Jehovah's Witnesses were the real deal once and that I'd be one forever and ever...its obviously terribly easy to be completely wrong about everything.
anewme,
There is no wrong place to be happy. The elder you met sounds as a really nice person and probably is. There are many of them.
However, you know the WT system to be a potentially heartbreaking machinery. So beware. If you get reinstated you will experience the full pressure again. Maybe it suits you. Maybe not.
Anyway I wish you luck.
They were my family who experienced my rage. They are mere humans who I hurt by my actions.
I hurt our family reputation. My brother in law is the P.O. of the hall.
This family does not represent for me Jehovah God or Jesus. At times they all have reflected Gods'glory by their actions and kindnesses to others.
I do not hold their resentment for me against Jehovah.
Dont you see?
I forgive them as Jehovah has forgiven me.
My sins are far worse than their looking crosseyed at me!
But I could not go back to that same hall.
This new town offers a new start for me.
I have invested alot of time in the studying of the Bible.
I cannot accept that Jesus was God or part of a trinity.
I do not believe in hell fire.
I do not believe the earth will burn literally after a rapture.
I have listened to Catholics, Baptists, Bahais, Taoists, Buddhists
I like to talk about religion and spirituality, but the hope of the JW and the God portrayed in their literature and brought out in the scriptures is the one that does it for me.
And you know what?
If I dont like it, I can always leave again!
That's freedom man!
