Yeah, the monkey suit and the sign "millions now living" are dead, really crack me up. The really funny thing is I could see myself renting a monkey suit or a prison suit to do something like that now.

Hey there all, I remember years ago when I was wee small that there were some "apostates" loitering outside the KH attempting to hand out literature. I was so young then that I can barely remember the details, but oh what a talked about scandal that was! I can only imagine that it was probably covered in great detail at the next "local needs talk" lol! Gosh those defectors are brave, to feel so passionately about such a cause as to face your greatest fears. The thing is that even though there's little chance they would have ever been directly effective, their very presence would have been a thorn in the side for many. And clearly it effected many of us here enough to recall such activity all these years on and remember how it gripped us with fear, or with guilt or whatever our own personal subjectivity of the situation might have been. Yeah, I've been to on DC in Cleveland. I didn't go for the whole weekend and I think that I even left early on Sunday to go to the mall and watch a movie with my buddies. The DC used to be held in the Richfield Coluseum which was the former home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. I've been to countless DC at that particular venue.
oh, i see. i was just wondering. i went to the cleveland dc but that was after they moved it from the old pittsburgh stadium to the univ. convocation center. i thought maybe there was a chance we could know each other.
did you happen to know anyone from mercer, pa by chance? i had some friends (the rudlophs) from mercer and we would hang out in youngstown on occasion. oh well if not, thought i'd at least mention it.
I do remember seeing some guy at the Indianapolis convention that stood on the street corner wearing signs that said "the end of the world is nigh" but I dont think he was Apostate, just some other religious person.
Thanks DarthYHWH, I knew a family that moved to Dayton from Youngstown in the late 1980's, their last name was Scharrer.

I remember a guy that used to be around the Norwich football ground at district conventions> He was really loud and he was going on about deep bible stuff i didnt understand anyway. There were a group of about 6-7 others on the other side of the road supporting him with banners etc. I was a good dub and tried not to pay any attention tho....
Oh I remember a couple of yrs ago There were a couple of people standing outside the convention Center screaming out things. Everyone was walking by them to go inside. I remember that was the very first time I experienced that and boy was I irritated! There was a lake right near them and I thought to myself, "Boy, I would love to throw them into it!"
Hi Guys - I'm new here and have only broken away from the Jehovah's Witnesses recently but I was wondering if these protesters achieve anything at all?
Like how successful are they??
I know they used to scare me and convince me that I did indeed have the truth and that those who left were truly in Satan's control.
I know that is not true now - but does anyone believe they do any good or would their time and resources be better used else where??
In Christ's Love,
- Chris.
