I recall only one convention where there were picketers. I believe that they were likely apostate, or at least that is the feeling I got. I think I was with an elder's son when we saw them. The elder's son took some tracts they were handing out and walked a few steps aways to a trash can, looked back at them, and with a wide, toothy grin I can still remember, tore them up and threw them into the trash.

I didn't really know what to think. We were always told that apostates were pure evil, that they consciously chose Satan's world over Jehovah's Truth. So I stayed clear of them. And because I was a good JW, I didn't think what the elder's son did was right... in taking the tracts from them in the first place. I don't think I really reacted much to his tearing them up so openly and vehemently. I suppose I was just used to such hypocritically aggressive behavior, although I was not much like that.

Here in Bangor Maine the Jehovah's Witnesses at the local Kingdom Hall brought in an out of town,'hit man' to harass my picketing. His tactic (no doubt WT A.O.P) was to repeatedly stop his van in the middle of the road and ask for directions, feigning to be a lost traveler. This was a 'setup' to try to report me as a fanatic who was flagging down cars with my anti-WT message,to try to get me arrested. Big backfire! I went to Maine district court filed a court complaint (all documented) and talked face to face with the sitting Judge and spilled my guts about the scum of the earth.

I remember there was a guy that used to picket the convention in Amherst, MA at the Mullen Center. He was dressed as the devil and I think he used to say "boo!" as people walked by to scare them. I could be wrong that was about 9-10 years ago. But it was a sort of performance art thing. Kind of fun!

Reading this thread it seems there are some new people on here who are defending the borg, you're preaching to the wrong crowd. We're probably the last people who would buy back into the watchtower.

    Hihi, this is very entertaining.:P

No, Jesus probably wouldn't have picketed against anything...but he did came right into the temple and to trash the merchants out. Should we do that also?

I vaguely remember some picketers...but I was too young to know what they were about. I do remember that one man who ran across the stadium, buck naked while the program was going on. Hilarious!lol I think he was caught before he made it to the other side, though. He probably went to prison or something.lol Poor guy.

I didn't see anyone say they saw picketers this year. I only went one day, Saturday, and saw two people holding up signs. Could only read one of them and it said "You must be born again." I heard a JW say to his wife, "the Devil is at work." Strange, I thought, that he would apply that scripture to the Devil.

That assembly was in Toledo, Ohio, and it was one of several assemblies in a downtown convention center. It was probably a little easier for the picketers because they could stay on the street and still be seen from the convention center.

Well Jesus is God - He had the authority....we do not.

Our duty is to take Gods side....there is only 2 sides.

We are either for God or against Him. If the Jdubs are soooo demonic why focus all of your attention on them? The Devil wants worship or at least it away from God Himself. By people putting so much attention and effort into pickets etc - are they not focussing attention on the demonic dubs and not God Himself.

If Satan cant get your worship he will distract it.....either way he takes it away form God.

Back in about 1980 an apostate got escorted out of our KH and bent over a car bonnet. He called the police and newspaper about being assaulted. They were the good old days before the JW's realised the lawyers were more powerful than their God.

I have seen protesters before and they were yelling this jesus saves into a bull horn and telling the witnesses they were going to hell. That's going to make them leave alright. That kind of protesting hurts the cause if you ask me.

No when we were on the Bull Horn we just gave our heart felt feelings. I told them why I was D/F & that we came there ( Brooklyn Bethel) to tell them we loved them even though they considered us our enemies....
