you gotta read this to beleive it!.....lately my mind is teaching s we had that "went beyond what is written" and this subject on self defence has cracked me up!!

!.....you if gotta see this to believe it!....not just guns....but almost everthing is bashed...they did leave out the option of us carrying a sword o.j.

Actually telling an intruder that you are a Jehovahs Witness and you WILL be visiting his house every Saturday morning for the next 45 years if he doesnt leave now....may just work.

soon jehovah's witnesses will begin their annual ritual of inviting members of the public to participate with them in the rejection of the emblems representing the body and blood of the sacrificial "lamb of god," jesus christ.. the justification they offer for this bizarre practice is that only those who anticipate heavenly life should partake of these emblems.

since the vast majority of jehovah's witnesses believe their future is earthbound, most of the attendees at the memorial pass the wine and unleavened bread along without so much as a sip or a nibble, and the emcee of the event makes every effort to discourage participation by the unworthy.. witnesses say that the new testament is a message intended, not for mankind in general, but specifically for those spirit-begotten future heaven dwellers.

if that is the case, then jesus' admonition to "keep doing this in remembrance of me" is also directed at the anointed, not at the general hoi polloi who aspire to a terrestrial eternity.. like most of jehovah's witnesses, i reject the emblems, but i reject them because i'm an atheist, and i doubt that the biblical sacrificial jesus really existed.. i find that it is much more convenient for me to reject the emblems from the comfort of my sofa while watching the parables of fellow atheist seth macfarlane as revealed by the cartoon show family guy on my tv.. paradoxically enough, i can do this while consuming a pizza and a nice chianti, and i don't have to worry about who else has spread their germs on the cup i'm drinking from.. .

What better way to remind the rank and file how UNWORTHY and LOWLY they are than to make them reject basically THEMSELVES once a year and then rubber neck around the room to see if anybody actually does EMBIBE...thus causing a cluster f----ck of ooooohs and aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhs and pointing and staring at that person (who is most likely a nut case who also thinks they have seen Elvis). Its the most rediculous reason to take a bath and buy a new hat Ive ever heard of.

You know when being chosen to be an assistant parking attendant at the Memorial gives you a thrill and a sense of pride you never had before...that you reeeeallly do need to get a life.

Have you ever seen the movie "Logans Run"? What you said reminds me of that movie. There is a society in the future underground away from the outside world where everyone lives a totally hedonistic life but when they become 30....they must either submit to euthanasia or be involved in a sick spectator game where they are suspended from the ceiling and try to attain the apex of that ceiling to be "Renewed". No one ever gets renewed but the faint hope of living makes them desperate to do anything to avoid dying. Some try to run away, and there are some who are trained guards to recapture the runaways and keep them inside. When one of those guards becomes 30 himself...his attitude changes and he seeks to become a runner and live.

We became runners...at great cost in family and friends...but we did it. And we are free. And those who sought to keep us bound and enslaved are too afraid (yet) to come out to where we are and breathe that freedom.

sharing that moment, with the person as they pass, is something that is special and yet hits hard in the heart.

my mother in law passed tonight, after a battle with breast cancer.

That was a beautiful statement Free. Im so glad you got to be there with her. Not many are allowed around our JW relatives, dying or not and Im sure it meant a lot for you to be there for her.

Im so sorry for all the suffering SHE had to go through with that awful disease. :*(

Are you afraid you will lose your job?

damn...this economy sucks.

its making me crazy.

i work for sams club and being as its a part of walmart and walmart is almost recession proof, you wouldnt think id be worried about my job going away.

Damn...this economy sucks. Its making me crazy. I work for Sams Club and being as its a part of Walmart and Walmart is almost recession proof, you wouldnt think Id be worried about my job going away. But even where I am there is a hiring freeze. They are cutting down hours to absolute minimum. Sales are not where they should be either. But the result of that is that the employees that are still there are being spread like that last teaspoon of peanut butter over a very large piece of bread and its making a lot of people unhappy and anxious and panicky. Its a 4 acre warehouse being run by about 70 people if that. Its insane. I do the clothing department, and if you ever saw a Sams clothing department its like a quarter of an acre of tables and racks and shelves of clothes and I have to keep the entire area neat, folded and "open ready" by myself....and thats during regular business hours when people are right up behind me messing up what I just did for 5-7 hours a day. Used to be two of us there. The other gal is out on maternity leave and they didnt hire anybody just gave me 8 more hours a week which certainly doesnt make up for the 25 hours a week she was there. But I feel from the whole place like people are scared...scared that this particular club wont survive.

I sure hope its temporary.

Im finally doing it...

many of you have known my trials and tribs in this marriage for a looong time.

as i said recently i told him i was moving out.

well i went out and found a really nice place for myself and my two youngest.

Yes trepidation is a good word for it. I have all this nervous energy. The whole job, economy, money crunch thing only adds to my anxiety. He and I are just co-existing in the same home and its been like that a verrrry long time. Im not sure if he wishes I would stay or is glad Im leaving. Its so...bizarre.

Still havent heard from the owner of this place to see if she accepts my offer. I dont know if she is out of the country or what. My realtor is trying to track her down. Meanwhile...we all just wait and wait.

My oldest found himself an apt and is moving out on Monday. Holy cow...we are all like abandoning the ship here simultaneously. His timing stinks but my husband seems to be ok with him leaving as well. Feels it is "time" for him to leave the nest. He also noted that he feels the only reason my son wants his own place is so he can "bring girls home and fornicate" and he "wont have that going on in his house." LOL.

i haven't seen any comments on this yet.... in the december 15, 2008 "study" version of the watchtower, in the last study article (the one to be covered march 1), paragraph 14 reads thusly in part:.

"...one january evening, the man asked his wife, jodi, what she knew of jehovah's witnesses.

she was a catholic, and she said that the only thing she linked to the witnesses to was "door-to-door preaching".

There is something to this though...in December 96 I decided I was going to "prove" why Christmas was evil to all those chatroom cynics who opposed JWs! So I typed Jehovahs Witnesses into the search engine and up popped about (at that time) 400,000 web sites not the least of which was Randy Watters! So...guess what I started reading LOL...wasnt watchtower.org thats for damn sure. And that lead me to Rays book and that lead me to the library and that lead me to (finally!) DA!!

Sometimes all you need is a seed.

Many of you have known my trials and tribs in this marriage for a looong time. As I said recently I told him I was moving out. Well I went out and found a really nice place for myself and my two youngest. A three bedroom, three full bath townhouse, still close by but far enough away. I love it! I am in the process of negotiating with the owner (it needs a LOT of updating and such but is basically really cute and totally doable. And...20 feet from the POOL! :)

I am waiting to hear from her so wish me luck! Also...I was stressin about the two months down I would have to come up with and today looked at the bank account and my tax refund hit today so yayyyyyy! Things are falling into place! Im excited!!

As for him...I think he is actually looking forward to living by himself. Its weird.

Dad passed away...

my father passed away last week.

it was not a sudden thing.

he was in his eighties and declining in health every time i saw him.

Im so sorry you lost your dad. Having been to a lot of them, there is nothing LESS personal than a Witness funeral. They are shameless in their infomercials.
