I'd like to stick a few pins in the North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong Il. what a @#$%, letting his people starve while he builds up the military and commissions statues in his honor. If there is a hell, he deserves to roast there for all eternity.

What's The Silliest Rule That You've Seen In The Organization Or Cong.???
by minimus inone congregation in the 70's allowed only white shirts to be worn on the platform.
if an out of town speaker didn't know the "rule", it was ok. the brothers kept a variety of white shirts in different sizes in case that happened.

I went to a cong. in Honolulu where everyone was required to take off their shoes, Japanese style. The MS would nag visitors who had the audacity to keep their footwear on. Once, a man w. an artificial leg got offended by this and left, and never came back.

How does a JW know if they are one of the annointed?
by carcroft congregation infirst time i have ever posted a message so my apologies if i am not as succinct in my use of language as some of the other contributors appear to be.
my cousin, who was in his late 20's at the time, announced that he was one of the 144,000 in the mid eighties.
his poor mother, who was scitzophrenic, was hospitalised as the shock sent her into an attack.

I always heard the old "...the bible is like a letter to you.." story. I remember in the WT once, there was mention of a woman who claimed to be one of the Annointed after being a JW for only a short time, and had to be disfellowshiped.
I never quite got it myself. I worked in FS with an annointed sister once. She seemed a bit thick.
The householder was making fun of her, (being very rude to this frail elderly lady)and she completely misunderstood and wrote the house number down as a possible back call.

What do you do with your old liturature?

i'm in the middle of decorating my new house, and was a bit stuck as to what to use to mask off the furniture/carpets etc until i spotted an oldv pile of watchtowers that i'd been meaning to throw out.
i now have paint spattered watchtowers all over my living room.. anybody else got any good things to use old liturature for?

I left mine at home with my mother. she's probably dumped them by now, thank god. It would be a hoot to go thru them tho, after a few glasses of wine. I'd like to cut out the illustrations and use them to make xmas and thank you cards.

unhappy people "in the truth"?.....All the emotionally and mentally distressed ones? All the miserable gossipers and backbiters that are "Jehovah's happy people"
That was the first thing that bothered me, that JWs were a hypercritical, judgmental lot, and I was just like them.
What shocked me most was how much money the Watchtower Society made, and how much they manipulated people.

Yes, left home with the first guy who showed an interest, an alcoholic drug addict and small time coke dealer.
I couldn't stand living at home. My mom was unstable, one foot in and one foot out of the Borg, and I never knew what way her mood would swing. My father was an abusive drunk and an "unbeliever." I couldn't wait to get away.
I had to be deceitful to leave a$$hole #1, i saved my money and slipped out "like a thief in the night."
