i think back to when i was a kid...a non-jw one.
easter was the time of new dresses, chocolate bunnies (you had to bite the ears off first to make sure it was the solid kind), ham with the little cloves stuck right in it, and peaceful family time.. during my jw years i didn't 'celebrate' it, but it slowly but surely became a 'family' time.
my flesh and blood sister (jw) and all my step family (non-jw) would congregate at the parents' place and we'd play games and eat and laugh.
(((Cerise))) I was a young teen when my Mom died...although many years has passed and I have learned to cope with her loss, it hurts my heart that others like yourself are going thru this pain. Please know that my thoughts are truly with you at this time, and please know that with time comes healing.

anyone else feel down right bad and evil for leaving the org dispite what their heart and conscience and better judgement tells them?
i've been inactive for about....oh....since october anyway and have gradually been letting friends and family know about it.
after every conversation i feel really guilty and selfish and i have to sit down and reassure myself that i'm doing the best thing for me.

When I found out the truth about the "truth" I went thru betrayal and depression issues.

i grew up having nightmares about armageddon, satan and, most of all jehovah.
i am 25 now and i still get nightmares, and they're always about these same things.
i was wondering if my brain is overactive, or if other people on this site get nightmares about things they learned as a witness.

I have had recent nightmares about certain JW family members that were cruel to me during my divorce....

let me introduce myself : i am lydia 22 ..i am from holland... i am 2 years without the jw's now...been brought up in it but left because of my bisexual feelings...still having a hard time with the disfellowship-struggles....but getting better with everyday...i am a female taxidriver... .
just one thing... can i say the word ass on this site?
cause i can remember a time and a place and a site where i got banned because i used that word ..teeheeeeeeeeee .

as i sit here reading new and old posts, catching up since my surgery, i began to think about this thought: "fluff can be a good thing".. .
i speak from experience: raised as a jw and conforming to all those studies of books that i never wanted to study but had too, i am feeling a little burnt out from such studies.. .
i guess because i have recently done research to confirm the "truth" isn't the truth as i learned it as a young girl, i am very turned off to any doctrinal study....now this could change later...but for now, i am very happy with light hearted posts...and always the newbies or any experiences people have had because of being a jw or anyone who has an interesting experience in life.. .

is there any such thing as good?.
the watchtower taught us that all people outside the org either willingly or unknowingly support satan, and soon will die for doing such.
those are some weird goggles to look at people through.. do you find that wt misanthropy still affects your thinking, and makes you feel that the whole world is bad and hopeless?
I think that people "can" be good. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt...after all, who of us can say we are "perfect?" We all have a bad day from time to time.
I must say that the WTBS painted "non-believers" as less than good, so when I was a very active JW, I tried to have as little to do with them besides field service. I felt that way until I moved to a new locality and found out the non believers were MORE hospitable and LOVING to me than the congregations of JW's.
Now that was a well learned lesson!

if a man marries a jw gal and the jw gal cannot get her husband to convert (he has no interest in joining, but supports her beliefs), will the jw gal be "looked down upon" by her kh?

Yes, the JW will be viewed as "spiritually weak". She will have failed applying the Bible principle of "becoming unevenly yoked". She could be "marked" in the congregation, and people will choose not to associate with her, thinking she is going "wordly" and it might rub off on them.
