Unfortunately, my cousin is still a JW. She has, at times, lead a double life. She got in trouble for having a wordly boyfriend in high school and...gasp...GOING TO THE PROM My aunt keeps a very tight reign on her kids, I feel sorry for them.
But for the next graduation party, my aunt realized how much work 2 parties were and let us heathens mingle with the JWs
One cannot walk with God while running in association with those of the wicked and sick society that approves of everything that God abhors. The Bible warns: "Bad associations spoil useful habits." (1 Cor. 15:33) Some in the congregation may be inclined to invite worldly acquaintances and unbelieving relatives who have no interest in the truth to social gatherings, thinking that this will encourage them to accept the truth. However, is this wise and in harmony with the Scriptures?
Stuff like this really gets me. My aunt actually threw 2 graduation parties for my cousin- one for the JW friends, and one for the wordly family. Guess she didn't want to risk contaminating the flock.

i just got an email from my mom (who's a jw) telling me that my grandma (who's roman catholic) turned 77 yesterday, she said i should call because my grandma would be happy to hear from me.
this might seem normal in a non-jw household, but it's the first time it's ever happened in ours, what struck me is that being raised a jw i'd never been told when my relatives birthday's were and conditioned not to ask.. it's been years since i left and i've never given it a second tought, but suddenly i feel pretty small for not knowing... my grandma, being catholic was the only one in my family who even acknowleded our birthdays, at one point when we were kids we weren't allowed to see our grandparents at all because they weren't jw's, it's insane.. to this day i still don't know when my mom and dad's birthdays are, i am not even 100% sure what years they were born in.. is this normal?.
10:10 a.m. and 2 women with mags in hand ding dong on my door.
don't they know this is a do not call address?
well, it started out nice enough, i asked for a list of charitable works, (for other than jws) where their soup kitchens were, how a magazine will put food on someone's table, i brought up the un, the pedo data base, the whistleblower dfings, hoping that they'd be interested in one.
I wanted to learn the real truth about the organization from the people who know it best. Whenever I have a question, everyone here is always quick with an answer. It really helps me to understand the grip that this cult has on many of my loved ones, and gives me hope that some people do find their way out. I'm very thankful for all of you.
this ever happen to you guys?> it is known that most of us humans will never meet the 'right' person for us, or perfect, if u will.
for example, i might meet this good looking chick, and she wants to have sex immediately, and im not into that - first, takes away the mystery and second, whose to say she wouldnt do it the following night with some other stranger?
Nothing wrong with being moral. I wish more guys behaved like you. Too bad you're in Australia, I've got a couple of nice girlfriends here. My husband can't set them up with any of his friends, they're all horny dogs!
