Why would a young sister marry an old brother?
by JH ini recall a ms brother about 62 years old dating and marrying a sister about 30 years younger.
i respect their choice and if they are in love, well good for them.
but i don't think it's to the best interest of the younger one...... do jw's accept bigger age differences in marriage than other religions?.

In my opinion, it's not neccessarily a sex thing. I like older men because they're more experienced in a lot of areas, hence more complex personalities, hence more interesting. A helluva lot more fun to talk to, most of the time. As far as sexuality, I've no idea, but I would assume that experience of years must make for good results. I date an older guy, and from day one, the thing that turned me on the most was his intelligence; the sex was a happy discovery after I'd already fallen in love with him.

I try to keep an open mind about the paranormal stuff. Even if it's something that I personally think is hogwash, well I can't recall anyone appointing me the great authority on what we should all believe. So, I try not to ridicule others for showing curiosity in those things. Most of us here spent a chunk of our lives being told what we could believe, what we could read, what we could think about; it's a sad thing when we try to impose thought-control on others.

Man, I'm sorry you missed the parade! One guy was pulling some little float-thing with his riding lawnmower, and lost his brakes. So, he starts hollering for people to get out of the way, and it crashed into some other guy. No one was badly hurt, just quite ruffled. It's the biggest thing to happen in Bath since...gee, I dunno. Not much happens here I guess.

My Grandpa Died Sunday
by noni1974 inmy grandpa died sunday afternoon.i was there in the room with him.i had to watch as he struggled to take his last breaths.it was horrific to watch.this was the second time i have watched someone in my family die.he died of prostate cancer.it was a long and painful death.i'm glad he's not in pain anymore.. at the moment i'm feeling a little emotional and upset about what i saw and all of the jw bs i had to listen too.i'm also dreading the jw memorial which is next weekend.i am planning on going.i'm da ed so i don't expect anyone to come up and talk to me or express there sorrow to me.the thing is i feel like i should be comferted and people should tell me they are sorry i lost my grandfather.i lost someone who i had alot of respect for all of my life regaurdless of how close we were after i da ed.i think i'm going to be excluded at the dinner after.they are planning a reception type thing for after the service.
i'm glad i did get the chance to see him and talk to him before he got really sick.i had the chance to go to dinner with him and my parents and a couple of my aunts a few months ago.when he was leaveing he asked me pointedly for a hug.he said he was collecting them.i hugged him and said i loved him.that was the last time i saw him till i went to my aunts house where he was staying just before he went into hospice.the next time i saw him was 3 weeks ago when he entered hospice and wasn't expected to live the night out.then i saw him sunday i arrived about 20 to 30 minutes before he took his last breath.he was creamated this week and will be buried with my other family in our family plots soon.. anyway i'm just in need of some kind words of support at the moment.i though that jwd would give that to me even though i don't post here that much.it really sucks to feel alone at times like this..

I'm so very sorry. I know how hard it is to lose someone you love. Please take good care of yourself right now: eat right, get lots of rest, try to spend time with friends with whom you can talk (or share a companionable silence.) When we're under such stress, we tend to forget about our needs. Try to remember all the good times you had with your grandfather.

That's horrible! Now these pastors can feel that they're entirely above the law, and above all common morality.

It's 4th of July weekend here. There's a carnival with rides, cotton candy, a cute little small-town parade down Front Street. A few floats, a lot of guys in tractors covered in bunting. We're going to have a cookout afterward at my house, or maybe boil up a few lobsters. Pretty wholesome stuff, really, no drunken bacchanals. You know you're invited; if not this year, maybe next year.

I'm really bothered by the fact that these people are using the threat of abortion as a means to enrich themselves. I'm extremely pro-choice myself, and donate whenever I can to Planned Parenthood, so it's something I think about. These people are making a mockery of a medical procedure that men and women have actually, literally DIED to keep legal and accessible here in the States.

My honey says that I'm still a very judgemental person; personally, I think I've become far less so than I was.
I do find myself being very impatient with Christians, though, and with their beliefs. I have to remind myself that they have as much right to their faith as I do to mine, and I force myself not to be rude to them. It's something I'm working on.
