Way back when, my UBM was a deputy sheriff. The elders tried to work on him but they admitted to him he would not be able to carry a gun, and of course that means no being a cop. That was his calling, and so he stopped listening. Funny thing he picked up on the headship and submission thing really well but nothing else.

Sad News Orangefatcat's husband died this morning.
by orangefatcat inthis is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.
but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.
i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.

Of course they libel the JWs all the whole internet are a bunch of apostates in satans pockets. Now why were you on the internet? How many times were you on the internet? Actually JWD has had absolutely no impact on my spirituality one way or another. Thats highly and deeply personal to me and is not related in any way to this board. This board is great to get the truth out about the borg, but I don't think it is advertised or in practice has anything to do with steering spirituality or lack there-of in any manner. Nice place to come and chat though.

need serious advice

i'm on vacation, staying with my daughter for the next few days...and then we're going (my daughter & her 3 kids) to my son's wedding reception some distance from here.. she has been trying to finalize her divorce and custody of the kids for about 6 years now.
they have been separated for that long.

Please get her and the kids to safety right away. When you get them to your state or your town, please get them help from the state domestic violence chapter. They are equiped to assist her and the kids to safety.
You read about so much tragedy anymore when bezerko psychopaths take out entire families, don't take any chances.

I'll weigh in, this cop is a bustard. He's a wyatt earp high on his own testosterone. He had no reason to use this type of force against these kids. He could do a lot more good with these kids with diplomacy, tact and redirection but he had to be an ass.
I was married to a cop for 15 years so that makes me at least as much an expert as mr dispatcher that keeps telling the tale of woe about the poor cops. Lets talk about the career of law enforcement. Has anyone looked at the job requirements lately? In most of the United States, this career, which calls for decisions daily about the use of deadly force, only requires an ASSOCIATES degree in Criminal Justice. For those that don't know what an AA degree is, thats two years in Junior College.
The cops make diddly squat, and put up with a lot of shyt. Soon they get to where they are cynical and distrust everyone. Yes this is a generalization, happens to fit the many many many in law enforcement that I personally know in more than one department. Want to know a bit more about this wonderful career? One of the highest rates of spousal abuse by a profession. Must be all that control.
As for me I'm probably not any more dispassionate than mr. dispatcher, and with equal reason. The elders told me my cop husband was "mean" to me and to my son because I must be doing something wrong. Guess it pays to be a boy in the good old boys club.

i use to study with them for years, i even went as for as becoming a unbaptize publisher.
i gave up being a publisher because i did not feel genuine in my efforts to preach.
