Here I go again...

i read and take in a lot on this board.

but i have yet to see hard facts.

what are the actual beliefs of jw's that you have found are false and what is the basis for it?

Despite studying many hours in the Bethal library, witnessing thousands of hours, giving talks at assemblies and hundreds of sunday public talks.....I yet have to find a bible teaching which condones hiding pedophiles from the law.

It took me thirty years to realize that I was in a cult and that is why I cannot believe any of the claptrap served up as spiritual food. I was especially nauseated this week by the latest 666 Watchtower articles and references to the Evil Slave class and foolish virgins.

BTW these magazines (about 8 of them) were stuffed into my post box again..I suppose by some JW slacker. I have ripped them up, burnt them and used them to line my cat sand box !

how do you deal with family members who still cling to the beliefs and yet never attend meetings or assemblies?

my step-parents all but stopped going to the meetings when i was df'd, guess i was too embarassing.

but, they cling to their beliefs.

You have all my sympathies. I can relate to your story. One of my family members also a staunch JW (although never associating/meetings etc) was an Alcoholic. When ever she was drunk she would preach and condemn all around her. When she was sober she would pray for forgiveness and apologize. It is disgusting, but you need to ask : what is the root cause?

The answer is simple : Cult indoctranation.

If the JW brain cells could be eradicated the persons may actually be normal. If they chose to be that way then its your right to disfellowship them out of your life.

i don't think i've made any apology for my leanings here towards jws, whilst i don't imagine most here will agree with me, i just think its good sometimes to redress the balance on this forum in a small way to let people who might be reading/lurking/ know that.. despite feeling messed up a bit in my own head about which direction i want/have to take in my own life, and despite many struggles as deep and traumatic as many have experienced here, i still hold jws as a group in the highest esteem.

i can remember what it was like to try and do the "right" thing and follow the way of the truth, it was bloody hard, and i fell down many times.

i always used to try and pick myself up dust myself down and start over again, sometimes with success for longer periods than others.

Just as some JW's are nice...so were some NAZI's.

Just because 6 Million JWS and only 100 regular posters online does that imply that they may have the "truth".

Just because the whole Catholic world (middle ages) was forced to believe that there was no route to India and if you sailed into the Atlantic you would drop off the world did that stop Columbus from reaching America....he was actually tried in front of the Spanish inquisition because he told them they belived in crap.

The point I'm making is that many who served as elders, bethalites, pioneers and "loyal" publishers for decades eventually found that the WTBTS was an organization based upon falsehood and was misleading Millions. Hopefully by telling, sharing and comforting , others will see the real light of freedom from hypocrisy and oppression. That is "getting out"

If that makes me an APOSTATE in my Country South Africa where currently almost 100 000 JW's and 400 000 Studies will attend the Memorial on Sunday and be misled then so be it . They're the suckers not me!

Were you ever a Conscientious Objector ?

dear jehovahs witnesses and ex-jw's .. many of you may not be aware of what life is like in a military state.

i would like to share a part of the shame that jehovah's witnesses elders in southa africa have to bear.. in south africa white males during the 70's and 80's were conscripted into the army from age 16.. during the 80's at the age of 16 i was conscripted.

at age 17 i was sentenced as a minor and was told i would have serve to six years prison.

a couple of years ago, the red cross had several blood donation trailers set up at a festival .

since i had time to kill, i donated.

it seems like there is always a critical blood supply shortage hard to deal with?

OMG ! ..I just realized that my last "WILL" made out 15 yrs ago leaves my entire estate to the WTB&TS in the event of myself and my wife passing !!!!!!....I'll change it Moday and rather leave my money to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.SPCA.

for me a couple of weeks ago was in the service meeting, they stated that if the children didnt finish their homework because they were studying the bible or at a meeting that teachers should understand that their meetings and study are more important.

i looked at my wife and went "what"??
