Native American Artifacts
by IP_SEC inmy great grand father was one half cherokee, he taught me about making flint tools and a lot about the land.. his son, my grand father taught me how to find flint tools lol.. the area i'm from is literally littered, with these tools laying right on the ground.
some may have been lost in the hunt, others discarded as a broken implement.
have you ever found artifacts?

OK smarty pants, post something simple that most people don't know.
by JH inok, lets see if you guys know the answer to this simple question.. .
if you have a car with a mechanical speedometer and odometer, not digital, and if you back up, will your mileage on the dial back up?.
7 miles on the odometer and you back up, for a few hundred feet, will the mileage also back up slowly to 47,108.6 and so on....?.

Forum plans and policy
by Simon inin case anyone is wondering about our registration policy:.
i don't intend to turn people away who want to register and post or make ultra-strict registration procedures because i honestly don't think that they work.
if i were to ask for names of congregations or presiding overseers then i have no real way of checking if they are correct.

Name a "job".....
by Jourles in...that doesn't benefit society at all.
you know - the ones where people get paid buttloads of cash for basically doing nothing that helps people in general.. i'll start off.
here are a few of my "pink slip" jobs:sports commentatorsactors/actresses (do we really need sitcoms, movies, etc?
-

i have no problem with actors, models, musicians, athletes, media personalities, as all of these people do benefit mankind in some way, whether it be feel good factor or in making people want to better themselves, or just plain entertainment. before movies there was theatre & stage. if we don't have entertainment, then we might as well be machines.
jobs i think are of no use to society on a whole are, overseas call centres, in india or philippines or wherever, they serve the company profits, but make things more difficult for the public.
also of no use are the jobs of people who call (unsolicted) to try to save me money if i spend with them, when i am already happy spending more with someone else.

Text Donations To Charity (What a great idea!)
by dh inthe live 8 gig and some cinema ads got me thinking about this subject, and i wondered... does anyone else agree that the event of text donations to charity is a great idea that will really make a difference to how funds are routed to charity?
... instead of filling in direct debit forms or paying by credit card or dropping pennies into a chairty box on a shop counter, you can sms a donation in, very straightforward... .
i think it could really change things, and after seeing ewan mcgregor saying for people to text mph to 8025 at the cinema, i just thought yeah, i can do that, because after all what's 25p off my phone bill?

I think all charities will start doing it soon, on their television adverts, I would certainly text to the charities I think are really worthwhile causes. The WTS however is not one of them!
