  Ewatchman: christians in the "strictest sense"

  i quote from ewatchman's latest essay "will christianity survive the end of the world":.

  indeed, we are assured by god's everlasting word that the meek will inherit the earth and reside forever upon it.

  however, in the strictest sense, only anointed individuals are truly christians.

  i just had to post this quote from a box on the first study article - "jehovah reveals his glory to humble ones".

  august 1st 2004.. strong yet humble.

  at the 1919 cedar point, ohio, usa, convention of the bible students (known today as jehovah's witnesses), 50-year-old j f rutherford, who was then overseeing the work, gladly volunteered as a bellhop, carying luggage and escorting conventioners to their rooms.

  Is there proof of Evolution out there? help needed

  i've faded, but i still would like to have faith in a creator/god.

  but i am really not sure if my belief in god is the result of being brought up a jw and being stuck with a particular world-view.

  the best thing i can do is challenge myself by reading some material that explains proof of the evolution, but i have not seen anything that does this yet, i've only seen explanations of the theory, not the proof.

  Those true life stories in the mags

  those life stories of bros and sis's in the awakes and wts were always very inspirational and encouraging to me when i was in the borg.

  everyone enjoyed reading them.

  now i realise that these experiences would have been censored and edited for maximum affect on the readers.

  Interesting Ewatchman commentary on abuse

  anyone read ewatchman's latest commentary condemning the "shepherds"?

  he makes an interesting application of the law in ot about a person being bloodguilty if they knew their bull was dangerous yet didn't warn the neighbours or restrain it.

  he compares this to a recent legal case where the wt lawyers said that the elders are not responsible for protecting "congregants".

  Self control

  since fading, i've noticed my 'self-control' is better.

  i mean by that, things that i really believe are wrong or not good for me, i find easier to resist.

  not that i did anything 'gross' before, but just things like being gluttonous, bitchy, dishonest, materialistic, all those things that i don't want to do because i know they have bad consequences but do anyway sometimes (because of being 'imperfect'?).

  hello, just introducing myself.

  i'm an inactive witness, been so for a few months now.

  got put off mostly by 1914 being hammered more and more lately, the child molestation issue, the un-ngo thing and just feeling like i don't want to shoot my mouth off and get labelled apostate so best to fade out.
