  I think that the wt (watchtower) programming makes people suppress their real selves and create fake identities. Maybe the person w whom you were solving the worlds problems w, who was basically studying the bible w you was a wt cutout. The wt actually has a teaching about building a new personality, a new person after christ, well, the wt christ, who lives in patterson new york. We are damaged goods

  The WT recognizes this double personality and refers to it as "living a double life." Most JWs do this to one degree or another. I knew several witnesses with severe emotional problems--many of whom were living double lives. A couple of JWs I knew had been diagnosed with multiple personalities. I think this too may be all too common with the double-speak double-think teachings of the JW religion.

  Rage, the WTS and JWD - a year's journey

  it was a year ago this past week that i joined jwd.

  being here has helped me with one issue in particular.

  i would like exchange feelings/experiences with you about this, as i feel that it could be key for many of us.. i left the jws in 1977, was df in 1979. since then, and up until joining jwd, i had no knowledge of the machinations of the society.. some of the things i learned about here are, the flip flop on organ transplants, the un scandal and the 'two witness' rule being applied to paedophiles.

  You are several months ahead of me. I am still at the majorly pissed off at the Org processing stage, but do hope to get to a better place one day. I always enjoy your posts and I am so glad that you landed here too.

  REMEMBER! CHARITY AND KINDNESS LITERALLY DO NOT COUNT IN the organization. There is no place

  for such activity on any field service report.

  I remember a sister who was quite ill herself and then caring for her elderly mother who was dying. She lamented the fact to me that she wished she could turn in the hours to the society that she spent caring for her elderly mother, because she had no energy left to go door to door and her hours were very low and she was feeling really guilty on top of feeling burdened by her situation. The mother eventually died and the woman had a nervous breakdown. She was in the mental institution for a while and then she died too--mysteriously (I always suspected suicide). I know this story is a bit of a downer, but it is another one of those from the WT ORG "aren't we ever so joyfully serving Jehovah" Spiritual paradise files.

  I have no apologies to make to this exploitative, unjust, ignorant cult - or anyone who defends their misdeeds.

  The WT tried to kill my family. Then they tried to kill me. They killed my sisters 2 son's and have killed countless of other individuals and their families. This was done by their disfellowshipping, shunning of the weak, shunning of those not working for their organzation (AKA worldy ones.)

  How can I have anything good to say about an Organization that promotes hatred towards anyone who is not working for the Organization? I was a good witness for 20 years--a nice person who tried my best to display understanding and mercy towards all of humankind. For this I was persecuted by the WT Org. In the end their message was loud and clear--Only love the Org--only support those supporting the Org--consider the rest of humankind as dead meat and treat them as such--the only reason to be nice to anyone is because they may be potential WT members--if not leave them behind and move onto the next door...

  Just telling it like it is...

  To capitalize on someone's death just to get donations is repugnant. It's one thing for the young man who died ,or his family, to have a belief and then act on it, but it's quite another for the Society to market that death into money.

  This is one of the worst pleas for money yet. It's designed to make the average JW moved to give more by way of guilt. Afterall, if some poor little starving African kid was raising a couple of scrawny chickens to raise money to donate to the Org should that not move our hearts to be more and more giving to the Org (as we have so much more to give). I don't even believe this is a totally true story---sounds fishy to me.

  I wonder, though, why aren't the hearty young men, the young couples, stepping in to help? Or are they too busy padding their own "nest egg" of "good works" - going door-to-door?

  That's the problem--everybody is just too busy carrying their own load--between meetings and service and study for the meetings and personal study and family study and then working to make money to support the family and to donate to the organization-- there just isn't enough time to give these ones any personal attention when all time is spent working for the Organization (that is, afterall, what is promoted first and foremost)

  Did you ever defend the Borg?

  i remember when i first started studying i was always so quick to defend the borg if anyone said anything negative about them.

  i didn't even have a reason to or had any business doing so because i was so new and didn't even really know anything about it.

  and i absolutley refused to believe that they could be involved in child molestation, even going as far as refusing to watch the news shows exposing the real truth.

  i recently became interested in the jw, when a classmate of mine in college, told me he was a jw, and how it changed his life.

  i didnt know much about it, and asked him questions about his faith, and what it meant, and where it came from?

  and i was surprised at the answers he gave me, and became very interested, and wanted to learn more.. after asking him questions off, and on, for a period of time, i decided to go to the web, and find out more.

  I was a JW for some 20 years and a good one too, but it all ended quite tragically, as it does with many. Glad you found this discussion board before you got assimilated into the Borg (Brooklyn Organization). Many of us are here and picking up the pieces of our lives--many lost years and people and broken families. What was originally presented to me as a "spiritual paradise" turned out to be a real estate investment corp and book publishing company--its member being workers for the company, but they are unpaid and many times mistreated. I would say to run as fast as you can from JW land...

  YESTERDAY'S ASSEMBLY SUCKED........

  well, i got dragged, kicking and screaming talked in to going to the assembly yesterday as a friend of mine was in the drama.

  what a freaking waste of time interesting experience.

  first of all, i had a tough time squeezing my larger than life ass bum into a seat that looked like it was made for a house-elf small child.

  What was really hilarious is when he said that some "faithful brothers and sisters have inadvertenly logged on to these websites, thinking that they're run by the Borg Organization, they've seen some of the materials and as a result, they've left the Truth." Even if I still believed everything about this religion, I would find this kind of statement very disturbing. I would automatically think "okay, what is being written that we're not supposed to read, that's making ALOT of bros and sisters leave?"

  They are making the JW average members out ot be so mindless it's insulting. Like these faithful brothers and sisters are so brainless they will fall for anything--duh...(well, there is a bit of truth to that one).
