Hi and a question

i have been lurking for a few days and wanted to ask a question.

i stumbled on this website because i have an aquaintance who is a jw and i wanted to learn more about this religion.. first off, let me say that i am a christian.. my question is this: in reading a lot of posts, i see that many of you have left the religion because you believe the wbts has not been truthful in their interpretation of scriptures and because of their incorrect prophecies.

but it seems many of you still believe that they were correct in their belief that the trinity is totally a wrong teaching.

Another reason I guess I don't understand the Trinity is because if Jesus and God are one then who was Jesus praying to when he was here on earth? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, the JW's are spoonfed the idea of Jesus and Jehovah as being seperate entities but I've found that other religons spoonfeed their children the idea of the Trinity. How is that any different?

When I was researching the Trinity I went in to a Christian Bookstore. The guy helping me took me to the children's section and gave me a book with showing an apple and explaining the Trinity as if it were fact. To me that is no diff. then the JW's teaching their beliefs on the Trinity being wrong. Who is right? I'm not sure that anyone will ever really know.

Hi, and welcome.........

I don't know about anyone else but I can say that I'm not sure they were right about the Trinity. The truth is I honestly am having a lot of problems with this. It isn't that I believe the JW's are right about there not being a Trinity but rather that I'm having trouble getting past the obvious distinction between Father & Son. I guess I just can't understand if the Trinity is true, why it has to be so complicated. Just seems like people read a lot into the Bible. However, I try to be open to all ideas.

I work at home. My coworker works in the office. He called to tell me that he overheard the bosses talking about letting me go.................. my heart just about stopped..........

Then he said, "April Fools!"

Are JWs Are A "Free" People As They Claim???

the argument witnesses make is that they are not encumbered by the world and its so-called "freedom".

they feel they are "free" from all the typical problems of this "worldly system of things"........if you could reason with a witness as to whether or not they are truly "free'', what would you say to help them see the light?

When I was growing up I was a faithful young JW. I followed all of the rules and I must say that it did keep me out of a lot of trouble....so in some ways I was free from problems that other "worldly" teens had.... but ....... free of those problems from being sheltered wasn't real freedom. I wasn't free to be a young person. I wasn't free to have boyfriends, date, celebrate the holidays, go to school dances, experience the hardships that come with growing up...........................

How is that freedom?
