if there was a new "rule" not to speak to inactive ones this would have come via letter to cong, or in a watchtower, but never at an assembly. This post is false.
You can't make this stuff up! I've heard things announced at assemblies that were NEVER in the Watchtower...sometimes CO's or Do's like to add their OWN slant to the outline. You must live in your own JW dreamworld....I wonder why you're posting here?????

my wife and kids left jw's 7 years ago.
all seemed well and then last week my 20 year old son committed a crime and is now in jail 1500 miles away.
everyone that knows him says he is a good kid.
Plenty of JW kids get into trouble also!!! That's not the issue. Just let your son know that you love him, but he has to take responsibility for his actions. This may be a wakeup call or it could keep happening until he gets the point and you need to realize that. The JW's are the last people on earth that can help or understand. They will only add fuel to the fire and I would NEVER tell them anything about your son...that will only make him feel worse and as you see they CAN'T help you due to their own addiction (religious self-righteousness).
Try to find out what is going on with your son and then do your research on the subject. Get into counseling if possible to learn how to deal with the situation. Strongly suggest that he do the same!

many of us who were once jehovah's witnesses had a measure of happiness in our lives.
for me, i had a hope in the future, i had answers as to why we are all here, i believed in a loving god who looked after me and cared about me, i had answers to all of lifes big questions.. when i found out the truth about the witnesses, i was lost in a great big world and now had no answers other than the fact that what i once believed was "the truth" in actuality wasn't the truth.i now had to start all over in my search for truth.
for me, it wasn't long before i found what i thought was the truth since i always believed in the bible.
I'm sooooooo happy that I don't have to study the Revelation book again!!!!! I'm happy that I don't have to go out in service and knock on doors all day long and waste their time and mine! I'm so happy that I don't have to study for and then answer at 5 meetings a week. I'm soooooo happy that I don't have to listen to the same boring talk again for the 20th time! I am sooooooo happy that I don't have to hear or think about Armageddon coming any week, day, minute or second...every week, day, minute! Is that any way to live your life? My answer to everything concerning our future is "I'm waiting to see what happens!" NO ONE KNOWS...I know as much as anyone else about the subject. Nothing!
Just because someone or some group has faith that it will turn out a certain way, does not mean that it will. Have faith in yourself.

big slam on watchtower good experience to use for child custody court to refute that jw kids are 'normal'.
for his entire youth into his early adulthood, quarry was a member of the jehovah's witnesses, growing up in the christian denomination where life focused on school, bible study and home chores.
there was no time for socializing or doing most things that most american teenagers do.

been off-air mopping up since last night.
the mother of all storms hit us and quite suddenly - one minute it was hot (as usual lately), the next all went dark and the most violent of thunderstorms hit us.
in a time of drought this was some reversal!

several years ago when i first started looking at tinternet i was still reticent to look at anything that may be taken as 'apostate'.
so typing in 'jehovahs witnesses' was not for me just yet.
however one little belief of theirs had always troubled me.
It was the U.N. and child abuse issues that got me on the net! I'm so glad there were sites like this for research!!!

i'm am so heart broken to see my boyfriend with so many internal strugles.
he is a good man, a good god fearing man and this is why it has been so difficult for him to leave the jw's religion.
we love each other so much and we want to be married but he fears the consequences of marring somebody who is not a jw.
Welcome to the board!!! As regards your situation, it's going to be a long hard road should you decide to stay in the relationship. Is he thinking of leaving? Does he have family members that are JW's? Do you hope to have children together, and if so are they going to be raised as JW's? Are you prepared to be shunned by the JW's and family members?
Those are just a few of the situations you will have to address...

in reading your posts, i have both laughed and cried till tears ran down my cheeks.

James...When someone disagrees with a point, I like an explanation before I change my opinion or mind. What letter would you offer up instead??? After literally taking a relative in off the streets and having helped them build a successful life, I was more than shocked that I would be shunned and I'm not even DF'd!!! (They shunned me because I no longer go to the meetings) It's not like they haven't done a million things that wouldn't be approved by the WTS....
