Ok ,so I'm really bumed that I didnt win this last weeks Mega Millons. The first thing I was going to do with my 200 mill. was buy a nice big billboard right across from Bethal and have it say "THE TRUTH IS A LIE! ASK ME WHY" and then get a web site set up titled www.the truthisalie.com . Then my friend who's also an ex-JW had a great idea of using some of the money to buy some of the buildings down there right near Bethel and turn them into Apostate retreats. and places to hold Apostafests. How awsome would that be! So maybe I will try agian who knows ,right? "A dollar and a dream " So what would you all use the money for? Do me proud and come up with some cool ideas of your own.

The Term- Disfellowshipped -no longer used???

they announce that so and so is "no longer " one of jehovah''s witnesses.
is this true?

The scandalous effect of JW childrens literature. Why not investigated?
by jambon1 ini can only imagine that in some jw children, the effect of the lessons taught and visual 'illustrations' can be mentally destructive.
some of the pictures in relation to armageddon are imo 'too much' for a small developing child to take.
it surprises me that the authorities have not investigated and put a stop to this form of mental abuse in children.

My friend and I were just talking about this same topic yesterday. We are both mothers now and we were discusing the My book of Bible stories and how disgusting the pictures in it are. I went back and looked at the book and seeing that mother holding on to her baby and knowing they are about to die from the flood just made me SICK! I actually cried when I saw that. I cant believe how numb I was as a Witness child to these horrible stories and graphic pictures. Yet we were taught that it was theso called "wordly" children who were being allowed to see graphic shows and movies and were the ones growing up not being affected when they saw violence. HA! its the JW children who are shown picture after picture of people being killed at armagedon. My niece who at the time she said this was just 4 years old told us how she and her mommy saw a JW video and how it showed the earth opening up and all the bad people falling into it and God raining down fire on all the bad people. She actually said this with a huge smile on her face ,so happy that this was going to happen. I though I was going to vomit right then and there. How sick to show a child images like this and train her to have no feelings what so ever towards these people loosing their lives.That image of her telling us this and how happy and proud she was that she could tell it to us will always be in my mind, I was totally creeped out by it. I am so glad that my children will never see this literature and the images the society uses to train there young to have no compassion for other humans.

For those who have traveled outside of the US...your favorite destination!
by restrangled inmine is garmisch germany....spotless and dog friendly, in the heart of the alps, just on the border of austria, driving distance to anywhere in italy....an absolute dream.
the town is small, (near where sound of music was filmed) beautiful shops including, chocolate, designer fashions, local specialties and the best food you have ever tasted from every part of the world.. it is a professional skier's destination, and at the same time, cows are driven through in the morning and evening with most traffic coming to a halt to allow the same.. driving in form munich, about an hour, you climb mountains and then suddenly come into beautiful fields with the mountains rising above you.
absolutely breathtaking.

I'd have to say so far it's been Salzburg, Austria. The town is soooo beautiful and I had a ball shopping all week. Germany was beautiful also but I only got to go there for one day so it looks like I will have to go back. My ancestors are all from Bavaria so I really want to travel there next.

My husband and I are faders . We have been out now for several years. His whole family including aunts uncles and cousins have all decided to shun us now after seeing that we had put up Christmas decorations last year. We are not Disfellowshipped. Tha last time they saw us and spoke to us was August 2006 our little boy was 22 months old last they saw him. He has just this month turned two and they have not even attempted to see him or even call or write and see how he is doing. They have also chosen to not have any contact with our new baby boy who has just turned 6 months old ,and I have to say is the absolute most adorable cuddley , huggable little baby . They would not even come to the hospital to see him when he was born ,even though we did call them and tell them we had just had him. They never even called to see how I was doing during my pregnancy even though they new that we had a pretty bad scare during it. I guess its hard for them to come see us , I mean they do live a whole 30 minutes from our house. They do not need to treat us this way ,we have not been DF'd ,yet,. but it is their loss . I truelly really feel bad for my husband , to have ones own parents, brother , sister , aunts unlces and cousins all do that is unforgivable, its un-natural and cruel and in my opinion VERY Un- christian. I look at my two little boys and think " I could never in a million years do that to them" . I am sooo thankful every day that we got out of all that mind control crap .I am so sorry to hear that you are having to go through this same thing.

I guess I should stop using my workout machine to hold my clothes. LOL. So if anyone has tried any of these companies I would really like to know what you liked and disliked about them . Thanks!

A main concern is, not what the practice meant hundreds of years ago, but how it is viewed today in your area. Understandably, opinions may vary from one place to another. Hence, it is wise to avoid turning such matters into big issues.
Ok does any one see the the importance of this statement from the society? So can we not say the same for Christmas? ,Halloween , Easter, Birthdays?? , Etc.? In my family Christmas has never really been about Jesus and his birth , it has always just been a time for all the family to get together and sit in front of a decorated tree and exchange gifts and eat WAYYY to much food. Halloween is just for getting as much candy as possible so we can spend all of our money at the dentist. Easter is all about the candy and the egg hunt. Oh yeah and more overstuffing of the food. LOL. I could go on but I am now hungry thinking about all the holiday food and candy coming up in the next several months.

Fall Fair: Or Pumpkin and Apple fare :o)
by Sunspot ina few miles from our home a fall fair is held every year.
it is held between an apple orchard and a pumpkin farm next to a christmas tree farm.they were having pumpkin tosses, face painting, hay wagon rides, horse and buggy rides, horseback rides, scarecrow building events, apple tasting, wine tasting, cider tasting and events for the little kids to take part in.. there were adorable alpacas that were so cute, and a place where sweaters, hats and scarves made from alpacas could be bought.
there were several goats, and a booth where goat cheese and other edible goodies made with goats milk could be had.

We have all sorts of apple festivals here in upstate NewYork. Some of our orchards in the area do awsome corn mazes. I love to go and get hot apple cider and a couple of cider donuts one for each hip .LOL. This year we will be bringing our two year old for his very first time and letting him pick out his pumpkin for himself and for his little 6 month old brother. Its so wonderful to be able to do these things now.

So I just got all my new decorations up for Halloween . They look awsome! and who stops by? My good old friends from my old KH. (SHUTTER). So I have nothing to say to them so decide not to answer the door but my husband goes and opens it up and goes out to talk to them. :( I refuse to speak to them ,all its for is so they could keep their time going on the way back to the Hall for noon break. I was a pioneer I know how it works. ,and they could get a glimpse of our home and if we had decorated it for the upcoming holidays. So now I'm sure we are the "hot Topic" of the gossip line . I would also not go out to see them because I have a new baby and I didnt want to risk vomting all over him as they oooooed and ahhhhhd all over my baby. They make me sick . These people who were my friends since I was a child and who now would'nt be caught DEAD being seen with me out in public ,never invite us over anymore and treat us like the plague ,want me to answer my door so they can count their stupid time! I think NOT!. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. I dont know what came over me I have been feeling very happy and had a "I could care less" attitude about all of them ,but for some reason when I heard them out side talking to my husband like they all just loved him and loved seeing him , I was filled with a massive amount of rage to the point that i was making myself sick. So they finally left and my husband came inside. So now they can all go back and spread some gossip around about us. Now the elders will be calling so they can disfellowship us. OOOOOOOOOO I' m Soooooooooooo frightened. :) Let them come ,I'm armed and ready now! I have a Brain of my own to fight them with . AHHHHHH AIN'T Freedom GREAT!!!!!
